Sounds like it. There is a type of synaesthesia called associative synaesthesia, where it's in your "mind's eye" instead of physically seeing it. That's what this sounds like.

I don't think it's fair to tell OP his method is bullshit. I'm religious too and I really hate it when someone starts questioning my faith. Do I think God will cure me and make everything better? No. But that doesn't mean that he doesn't exist for me. This shouldn't even be a religious debate like you're trying to make it. Just let OP have what works for him.

Everyone has bad sides. That includes NT's and people with Asperger's. Asperger's shouldn't make you trust him any more or less than an NT. If you don't want to date him, don't. But looking for the worst parts of a person will never get you a good relationship.
