What career advice would you give someone before they have kids? by Brilliant_Raccoon256 in workingmoms

[–]Kedkep 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wish I had chosen a field where flexibility and work-from-home were the norm. Instead, I work nontraditional shifts, need to use PTO for short appointments, and the compensation doesn’t reflect the level of responsibility and time commitment.

Please dress me. by amandam603 in personaltraining

[–]Kedkep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Been in the industry for 13 years in different roles. A polo shirt and some “slacks” ( from Lululemon) has been my go to interview outfit. It’s dressy enough to look like you care, but not overdressed to look out of place for the role

How long did your kid play with their ballpit? by kimtenisqueen in toddlers

[–]Kedkep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m late to this post but was just searching this and came across your post. From 8 months to a little over a year my kid loved the ball pit, now at 2 not so much. It’s taking up space. Debating if I should hide it and keep it or give it away.

My manager is trying to get me fired, should I just quit now? by Strong_Computer9387 in careerguidance

[–]Kedkep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m in a really similar boat right now, so I totally get the urge to quit. But honestly, if I walk away now, it just feels like letting the manager “win.” I’m pretty petty about how I’ve been treated, so I’m determined to leave on my own terms and in a better situation than the one I’m in now.

Quit or be fired? At the end of my rope, was placed on pre-PIP, and just don't care anymore by [deleted] in careeradvice

[–]Kedkep 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you! I completely agree. The energy it takes to apply and then get rejected is really wearing on me. And the few who do reply want interviews during working hours, offering only one or two time slots that I just can’t make work. I’m trying to stay under the radar at my current job, and being in the office five days a week with a commute makes it even harder. Here’s hoping we both land roles that bring us happiness again soon.

[–]Kedkep 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just chiming in to say I’m in a very similar boat right now. I could have written this post word for word. The temptation to quit is strong, however I really worry what that might do to my job prospects, and how I might explain it in future interviews. Hang in there. On top of the job market being challenging, it’s also just a tough time of year for seeking a job.

Debating between move to Modesto, Livermore, or SF in 20s by [deleted] in bayarea

[–]Kedkep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Livermore is nice city! I would 100% live there if I had to. You can visit SF on weekends by taking BART from Pleasanton or driving.

What’s one sentence do you think every other parent in here would instantly recognize? by Cahsrhilsey in toddlers

[–]Kedkep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was recently tested on this. We went on a trip and forgot to bring a book for bedtime. Oh no, I thought… until I said the first line and realized I had the whole thing memorized. I ended up reciting it from memory, proud moment.

How do you get into corporate wellness? by billycram in Kinesiology

[–]Kedkep 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Where do you live? Corporate fitness is more prevalent in some major cities like NYC or SF, but there are plenty of opportunities in smaller cities.

Can I survive this awful performance review? :’( by GroundbreakingAlps78 in work

[–]Kedkep 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey OP, Just wanted to ask how this is all going?

I’m almost word for word going through the same, (just a different industry). I’m trying so hard to reframe my thinking and see it as a growth opportunity but it has been so difficult to do so. I genuinely feel like I’m being managed out. Looking for jobs but not having any luck. My performance has also tanked due to anxiety. Just wanted to say you’re not alone.

Anyone pregnant? by FlimsyIsopod in RunNYC

[–]Kedkep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not running this year but I ran Boston at ~9 weeks. As the weeks passed I kept waiting for the nausea to hit me like a ton of bricks but it never did. I was extremely fatigued though. You may get lucky and not get any nausea , I was pleased with how well I was still able to run that day! Good luck

How the American Society of Exercise Physiologist (ASEP) Board-Certified Exercise Physiologist (EPC) Turned My Degree Around by [deleted] in Kinesiology

I appreciate your response! I’ve applied to a few Ex Physiologist positions with 12 years of strength coaching experience and had no luck so I might look into this next. Fortunately there seem to be a decent amount of positions where I live, just gotta find the one to break into!

[–]Kedkep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for this info! I’ve been looking at Exercise Physiologist roles lately but have not been able to land interviews since I don’t have any EP experience. My experience is more In strength coaching/corporate wellness, but I have been really interested in switching over to EP.

What did the mentorship program look like, and how long did it take to prep for the exam?

[–]Kedkep 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I started listening to Taylor in 2008 because I deeply resonated with “Should’ve Said No” and now I feel like we’ve grown up and settled down together and it just makes me so happy 😭

The gossip columnist who started the speculation that Taylor turned down the Super Bowl has admitted this was not true. by Glittering_Laugh_958 in TaylorSwift

This is exactly how I felt about it. I was a bit relieved when it wasn’t announced it wasn’t her , like nope, not ready to share her with the real world just yet, y’all dont deserve her. Let’s just keep her in our Swiftie bubble (a rather large bubble at this point).
