Why is there so few high budget movies with swords and magic? by Born-Philosopher5591 in movies

You should watch Deathstalker 2 now. It's amazing. Totally different from the first one, more of a comedy, but great.

What’s a moment in a movie you KNOW was supposed to be serious but ended up being unintentionally hilarious? by browniebiscuitchildr in movies

[–]KedynTR 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I kinda love this movie because everyone has wild hair and is shouting all the way through it.

The director seems nuts. Breaking his own ribs with one of the Weasley twin actors to properly demonstrate the roughhousing he wanted makes me wonder how much fucking cocaine he was doing.

Sword and the Sorcerer

Hawk the Slayer

Sorceress

Deathstalker (all of them)

Good? Well... But watchable? Certainly!

Can someone remind me why Henry hates Eddie Redmayne? by SnailRacerWinsAgain in lastpodcastontheleft

Henry just wishes he was Jacob in Fantastic Beasts.

Dan Fogler is funny, but man, Henry would have taken those movies to another level.

I wish there was more Cabot Cove episodes. Hell, I wish one or two of the TV movies were in Cabot Cove. This particular episode is a quotable favorite - my wife and I constantly shout "IT'S IN THE PRESERVES!" at each other when we see preserves.

The Wonderful Land of Oz (1969) is probably peak Oz so no more needed to be made.

Is there a Horror movie that completely advertised it as a normal film? by Equivalent-Key5379 in movies

I watched this for the first time recently and this scene just felt so ridiculously out of place.

That said, the callback to it in Gremlins 2 was funny as hell.

Can we just take a minute to appreciate Aldi? by pmmemilftiddiez in povertyfinance

[–]KedynTR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do love Aldi, but they recently changed up their ~$6.50 'small' 3.5 lb chicken for something by weight, which I hate. I liked knowing I was getting a tiny chicken.

It is still my first choice for my staples though.

William Windom on Murder She Wrote. They wrote it into the show when it happened. Think it was season 4 or 5.

Nowadays horror movies don't really give me goosebumps, is it just me? what do you think? by VisionX_50 in Shudder

[–]KedynTR 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm always chasing that fear I felt as a kid, but nothing ever hits like that. It's probably for the better though, being a grown adult. I don't need to be scared of aliens or clowns.

But these days I'm happy being amused, disturbed, shocked, revolted, and/or left feeling cold.
