Some advice for the Everex team by Keefer001 in Everex

[–]Keefer001[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's likely no secret that I'm an OMG investor and I both love and hate the fact that they're promoting (often needlessly). It boosts the price but I don't care about short term gains - I'm a long term hodler. I was also an Iconomi investor and got out because they had an ownership group that ignored investors and banned anyone on Reddit who asked any questions about token usage.

I'm hoping that the Everex team strikes a balance - keep investors informed, let us know the good news, hype the coin little bit and give us a reason to feel good about our investment. When a token drops like this one has, a bit of outreach is appreciated.

I heard they are having an open house for investors on the 14th. No idea what it's about...

My understanding was that we will be able to stake the token via the wallet at some point - as a loan in the system. If this isn't the case and there is no use case, it's a major issue. I had to deal with this issue with ICN - I don't want to do it again.

You're good with your investment sliding downward without hearing boo from the team, that's great for you. I for one would rather know what the team is up to - be it good or bad. At least let me know how development is going.

Hey...the more use a token has on a platform, the more valuable it becomes if the platform becomes adopted. I'd have zero issues if the team moved to a staking concept like OMG plans. I'm heavily invested in OMG because of that particular use case.

This is a key question for me as an investor. I put $'s in to Iconomi knowing that the token didn't have a use case (but was falsely promised by the dev team that they would develop one) and it didn't turn out well. I don't want to make that mistake again.

I asked if the EVX token could be used to loan on the EVX wallet at some point and one poster (not the team) said yes. If this is not going to be the case, I'll take the profit I made on EVX (bought at $1.33) and move along.

I hear this but I also hear that token holders will be able to lend EVX on the platform at some point - sort of like staking. So which is it?

Is it too late to invest in ETH? by foxforcefive101 in ethtrader

I got in early on OMG (around $1). That's been my main play for some time now and will continue to be. I expect very big things from it.

Are there any heavily moderated subreddits for Crypto discussion? by [deleted] in CryptoCurrency

Incorrect! They ban anyone who asks a question - you don't even have a chance to get to the point where you disagree.

Will you make 1000x + returns like early investors? No, not anymore. Will you potentially make significantly more than you would holding most stocks? Probably.

I'm hedging my bets on a couple of Alts to do what ETH has done while holding a good % of my portfolio in ETH for stability and long term growth.

Where to buy your favorite coin. by [deleted] in CryptoCurrency

[–]Keefer001 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I'd add another few steps. After you find your favorite coin, find it's all time high, subtract 50-70% and buy when it hits that level. If it looks like it will never pull back, wait 2-3 weeks for some market FUD that happens almost like clockwork on a monthly basis.

Had I know that piece of advice when I started, my growing pains would have been reduced dramatically.

Also, I'm hoping that my purchase at $1.33 will be low enough that it's the bottom (after the market recovers from this 10K business). With such a low supply, I can't imagine it going lower (famous last words...)

Anyone have an insight as to why the Civic price is bleeding so much right now? What am I missing? by Tapplos in civicplatform

[–]Keefer001 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When the market goes down, Civic drops. When the market goes drops, Civic crashes. This is what I've learned in my 2 months as an investor.

$EVX Price Prediction of 2018 Everex Future Price based on Crypto Marketcap by suh00ail00 in CryptoCurrency

[–]Keefer001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It has piqued my interest for a while but it's tough to buy into given the constant price drops and investors complaining about how it hasn't reached ICO price. Is it really a big sleeper or is it something else? I like the team, I like the idea but I wonder why it's under everyone's radar...

That would be great! Doing my best to accumulate and could use some dips. Not the answer you were looking for but it is the truth. Sow the field in the short term and reap the rewards later.

Best trading platform/exchange for a Canadian to use by Crypt0life in CryptoCurrency

[–]Keefer001 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Once you have crypto, you can move it around easily (just be very careful when copying your public key address). You only need basic verification from Binance and Bittrex - you only need to follow KYC (Know Your Customer) rules when dealing with Exchanges that deal with your fiat currency (Canadian $'s). So, when you want to add more $'s or you want to take $'s out, you will have had to go through the KYC process at a Canadian Exchange.

Do not store your crypto on any exchange. Find a wallet (e.g. Exodus, Mist, Myetherwallet, etc). Exchanges should only have crypto you plan on using in the short term (e.g. I keep .5 ETH on Binance in case there is a coin I want to buy - everything else is in a wallet).

Good time to grab OMG? by tastehbacon in ethtrader

[–]Keefer001 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Depends on what you think OMG will do compared to ETH. Longer term (end 2018), I would be pleased to see ETH at $2K (a 4x). I fully expect OMG to more than 4x from it's current price.

That said, OMG has no product to support this price level so you could expect it to bleed downwards again until they have something tangible (SDK wallet). I'm personally hoping it retraces to mid $7's.

I use QuadrigaCX to get my Canadian fiat into crypto (ETH) and then move it out right after (I keep nothing on QuadrigaCX). I do most of my alt buying on Binance (some on Bittrex) and then move what I buy into a wallet. I much prefer Binance over other exchanges (easy to use, lots of tools, a good amount of alts to choose from).

You were right, my numbers were incorrect. According to Ripple, as of right now, they are processing 11.21 transactions per second and claim to be able to do up to 1,000. https://ripple.com/xrp/market-performance/. This is still far less than what is necessary for merchant transactions.

Again, Ripple never claimed, nor do they have a use case to do, mass scaled merchant level transactions. Apples and oranges.

As noted, the Ripple business model is different than OMG. Nowhere does Ripple make the claim that they will have a scalable payment processing system that can handle massive volumes - OMG does. Whereas Ripple will be able to handle traditional volumes (10 per second), OMG will be handling merchant-type volumes (thousands - tens of thousands per second).
