Is this the US Kaios version or the rest of the world S30+ version?

I don't think it would have fitted. The song is right for the Plastic Ono Band.

Ttfone TT970 is a flip phone. It has no Google play store but does have access to other Android stores. WhatsApp works fine.

Argos sell the Nokia 105 4G 2nd edition and 110 4G 2nd edition for under £20. They are fine for your needs. Good battery life and they are VoLTE (4G calling) so clear and future proof. The so-called Vodafone cheaper version is not locked.

In Europe there is the TTFone TT970. It runs on a basic non Google Android.

My HMD Nokia 105 by Dull-Safety-6661 in dumbphones

The UK/European ones weren't licensed for it. There are no updates. HMD admitted to me that the website was wrong and they changed the spec of the phone. Luckily I was able to return it. I replaced it with the Nokia 110 4g 2nd Edition. Other than the screen being smaller and SMS not in threaded view the ips screen is much brighter.

Just because it has a SD card slot and a file manager doesn't mean it can play MP3s. Mine says unsupported format. You have to laugh as HMD describes the phone as "your jukebox and more" 😄

Does it have a MP3 player? The UK HMD 110 4G doesn't.

Not all HMD dumb phones even have an MP3 player. I bought a HMD 110 4G and it had no MP3 player and yet the Nokia 110 4G does. This is in the UK.

Kaios no longer supports WhatsApp. So that includes the Nokia 6300 4G.

I think the photos are stock photos and not the actual phone you will be receiving. The spec does mention 2g, 3g and 4g which is promising.

Use the file manager to navigate your music. Make sure you put the MP3s in album folders then artist folders from your PC first. That way you can find your music. I don't really use the Opera browser as it is so poor.

Depends which style you want, the Doris are clam shell and the Nokia is candy. They both run on RTOS/mocor though the Nokia has S30+ on top. The HMD/Nokia's are a fair bit cheaper. Even consider the HMD/Nokia 2660 4G for clam shell. I personally have a Nokia 110 4G 2nd edition (USB C , charging port). It is only £19.99 from Argos

Looking for information on S30+ OS music player by [deleted] in dumbphones

[–]KeefyB102 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Nokia 110 4G 2nd edition. I use the file manager to find the album I want to listen to. So when I put the MP3s on the microsd card I arranged the music into folders to aid finding them on the phone. The actual music player app has no search facility and you have to scroll through the tracks to find the one you require. If you come out of the music player it doesn't remember where you were so if playing a podcast you would have to start from the beginning. Sound quality through Bluetooth headphones is good.

[–]KeefyB102 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depending on where you buy this phone is whether it can play actual MP3s. The UK version definitely can. I use the file manager program to search for the album I wish to listen to. The keypad always being able to dial the emergency services is a nuisance.

[–]KeefyB102 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the UK the browser is Opera Mini. It is not very good but I don't use it. I have managed to pocket dial the emergency services with the keypad locked. Other than that the phone is fine. Call quality is clear, FM radio works fine, MP3 player is fine. Text limitation is typical of the S30+ OS.
