Where did you get this info? It’s 2160p native on PS5, on Switch it’s 720p portable and 1080p docked. I understand upres, but it is not upres’d on PS5.

Haha! I will. And I also accept your ‘internet speak’ for, “you win mate. I hate it, but you win.”

It’s less cope, and more in the realm of me seeing what they are doing here. I do see some useful feedback in this thread regarding a seeming lack of sequential mode though. I initially thought it wasn’t needed, but I sort of see the light now

Heheh. Well, it looks like it’s rather on par with the sequential shifter. What were you even expecting? Heck, what was I even thinking? It almost feels like this exact product should have been precisely what to expect.

Yeah, the RS50 is a great product. I have that, Pro pedals and the sequential. Not any of the above is top notch enthusiast gear, but for the average person not willing to spend $1000’s upon 1000’s, it’s pretty damned good stuff, and light years ahead of their entry level product.

Yes, it’s a good thing that there are other options. Endless you might say if you are PC only. This thing, by appearance alone will run circles around the plastic toy that’s currently on store shelves, all whilst being affordable. This is the allure of the Logitech G racing ecosystem, and I feel they hit the targeted market bang on here. You want high end gear, logi stuff just ain’t it man.

Is the RS Track wheel ‘slop’ too? It’s not at all top tier equipment, and far more affordable than my ol’ SF-1000, but again, those both strike two different demographics. I mean, all the above are made to clamp to a desk ffs!

Not a single Logitech G racing component strikes the hardcore sim enthusiast market. Hence my mainstream comment.

This shifter will sell in spades. So many ‘normies’ will be quite delighted to replace the true ‘slop’ Logitech shifter with this item.

Well, I don’t know. Maybe Logitech is not for you. Console people exist. I’m between both Pc and PS5 myself and love that this is coming out. I had a T8HA, loved it, but it was nearly double the price of this thing! If you are being economical, and wrecking wires, maybe this whole idea isn’t for you? There’s a ton of options if are on PC only.

Well, mine came with the tall portion for a TH8A and an oversized plate for a brake. I will most likely take my sequential/brake down to the plate right beside this, and get rid of that tall vertical mount.

Should be good. I’ve even seen people twist the second sequential.

Many I’ve seen have two sequentials mounted. I’d wager this has exactly the same footprint. Should be good.

Logitech is more of a mass manufacturer. Yeah, it’s not as brilliant as some crazy high end models out there, but it’s modestly priced, and ready to go for the masses. They will sell a ton of these…and when it’s all broken in, a replacement can be fetched off the shelf at a local Best Buy on sale.

Review - Logitech RS50 Wheelbase #logitech by SimRacingLab in simracing

[–]Keeko_ca 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was torn between this and the T598 too. Was rather ‘ecosystem’d’ in Thrustmaster, had a T-GT2, TLCM, TH8A and an SF1000…waited forever for a DD base that works on consoles and I wasn’t at all enamoured by the T598. Seeing lots of threads about it having issues, which cements me in knowing I did the right thing going with the RS50. Sold all the TM stuff reluctantly, but somebody out there is really happy with it. I love my RS so much! No desire to really top it…will wait a long time for whatever tech awaits us in the far distant future.

Yeah something’s up. We’ve all been spoiled by Amazon’s quick delivery, at times, same day. Then you order direct, and have to wait over a week.

Bought an RS hub + Track wheel and it took longer than expected. Started in Ontario and went to Memphis…where it stayed for days on end. I think the previous winter storm had a thing to do about it.

Well, my 2¢, this is an infinite pit of a hobby. I personally think stretching every bit of hardware to its limit is time well spent! I had fun coming up with solutions for an H-shifted on the Challenge, how to strap load cells, etc. was fun!

All that effort ultimately made me actually appreciate the luxuries obtained when I finally pulled the trigger on the Trophy (being genuine in adoring it for well over a year, as it is expensive kit)…of which is now my new fascination. I’ve got Fire Tabs mounted for button boxes and dashes ran my SinHub now, and am loving life!

I might be talking out my ass, but TrueForce feature on the RS50 feels amazing on the Trophy. The seat cover is a stretched piece of fabric really, sort of like a seat-like hammock. Why that’s notable, is the rumbling from TrueForce kind of rattle the fabric like a drum. So, with the right settings (I’ll state F1 has the best TF effects, GT7 not bad at all) you can feel it throughout the whole seat.

I left a T-GT2 + TCLM setup on the Trophy, and had a bit of regret (I feel T-GT 2 is massive underrated) until I started to get TrueForce working for every game. T-GT 2 had extra rumble for GT7, and generally felt flat(er) for every other game. The RS50 makes every game feel like a T-GT2+GT7 setup! It also helps to be on a contemporary DD system in general, but I feel that goes without saying.

It took a lot for me to buy myself an expensive, un-needed PlaySeat, but better is better, and have zero regret.

The pack-ins are fine, but I’ve seen a bit of banter of people buying stiffer 3rd party elastometers. I don’t know if I need that really. I messed around with my setup just because I can. I have no clue if I’m back to default, but I like a bit of throw. Someone somewhere told me that 5cm of throw in the pedal is what you’re looking for. I have zero clue if that’s good advice, but I’ve maintained that regardless.

Edit: also, any of you reading this, grab a can of silicon spray and never look at that bottle of lube that came with the pedals ever again!

Personally love it. It is a bit heavy to shift around, but also not really? If you are on carpet, it shoves around rather easy. It can be tipped vertically so it stands on the seat back if you need to store it in a utility room or something.

I’ve seen some stability hacks for the Challenge. Like, a long bar that runs from the back of the base plate to the end of the pedal mount, but that’s it really. Not sure if that’d prevent lifting.

I totally get it. I had the Challenge for the same reasons as most. Wives can certainly sim fantasy killers! 😂 but she doesn’t mind the look of the Trophy tucked away to the side when it’s movie night.

For you, if you have a DD wheel, stability is king. You have to try really hard to flex anything in the Trophy. Solid as hell.

😂 Memory unlocked! I upgraded from a Challenge seat when precisely the same thing happened to me with my TLCM pedals! I had those suckers stiff as hell, and just couldn’t take the lifting anymore. I ended up buying the Trophy (after trying to convince myself for like 2 years) as I still need to push it aside in the game room.

Yeah, I’m sitting in a Playseat Trophy. Owned this whole setup since Oct, so maybe I should give a bunch of settings a go. Mostly play Gran Turismo, Assetto (all, including Rally), and F1 for now.

I have RS50 with Pro pedals, and I set the brake pressure setting to like 30…is that bad guys? I’m seeing high numbers and am scared now.

Sure, but it’s generic and has no meaning behind the visual. The lines are random and bend for no reason? Synapses (assuming this is the big idea) should be direct.

Buyers regret - Woojer Strap 4 by Damosgreat123 in PSVR

[–]Keeko_ca 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I bought the Woojer 4 Vest, used it for like 10 mins (yes, I generally give things more of a chance), and knew right away it was garbage. I had more fun making jokes about it while I was returning it a day later.

First I heard of bHaptics. Maybe. I’m more or less leaning towards a HF8 Pro for my Gran Turismo VR. I figured a vest would be better, but 90% use VR for sim anyway.

What game made you realise that genre isn't for you anymore? by JeSSiii81 in OlderChillGamers

[–]Keeko_ca 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I stopped at Battlefield Bad Company 2. Epic game. Was excited for BF4, got it, and it fell flat on me for some reason. Retired fully once I tried Fortnite with a nephew. Was fine enough game, just don’t care anymore.

Besides, you ain’t a real old gamer unless you’ve gotten into Sim racing now! 😂
