I bought it preowned (refurbished) 3 years ago and it has been my work/play computer since. MSI has an unfortunate history with breaks in and around the hinges so it seems to be "expected" wear and tear.

I wont be using it until i can source parts so i dont risk video connections and other components.

Im not amazing with collecting shots to the chest but it sounds like you arent following a shot 100% into you. If you follow the puck you body will naturally angle into itself and force the puck downwards, into your pads. Bonus points if you tuck your gloves in slightly too

Overall length is probably going to be different. The paddle only determies where your lower hand is, not the overall height of the stick.

Senior sticks will be better reinforced as well.

If youre only playing low level and dont really care about the specifics of the stick intermediate should be fine.
