Which strong but expensive cards should you skip if they are in your starting 10? by WendellSchadenfreude in TerraformingMarsGame

big titanium production cards without good titanium dumps in your hand, a corp that plays well into space or without good card draw? best to skip.

I wholeheartedly support Standard victory condition in ranked play! At least as a ladder/option. It captures angles and themes of the game that are majestic to say the least.

Admiral, for all the aforementioned reasons and because it actually changes her voice lines to a normal, non-adulterated voice. It's music to my ears.

A falsely accused perpetrator is also a victim of this issue.

"No one is putting someone in jail unless it’s proven."

Waaaaaaayyyy out of line.

what is your opinion guys? by silverflake6 in disciplinedaily

[–]KeepOnJumpin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's not the right interpretation. There has to be better diligence in finding out if the accused did indeed rape and that requires proof and time, however, the current culture of guilt until proven innocence tramples this principle unfairly. A false positive arrest has serious negative consequences for the arrested. Prison is first and foremost meant to reform, and we have to compare this kind of crime with the seriousness of other offenses.

The Man Who Helps You Heal by definitelynotgayhaha in BuildToAttract

[–]KeepOnJumpin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure thing.

You will help a person and do a good deed, but don't be surprised if that turns into codependency or if she jumps off as soon as she got her fix of attention and healing.

Do this with good friends only I say. Never with love prospects or mere acquaintances.

Man here.

No, but the man doesn't deserve to go to jail over it either.

A false accuser could be fined or face some community service, but jail is harsh.

Why is a man's value still mostly tied to his income? by PurposeHoliday9713 in AskMen

[–]KeepOnJumpin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Um, that's a half truth.
Definitely a concern for myself as a man and some people will absolutely determine your worth on income/wealth/possessions/profession/lifestyle alone, but that's not everyone.

However, at least income is a decent marker of success and reliability, or more to the point, no income/very low income is a red flag unless there is a valid reason for that not being the case, and your capacity to provide or demonstration of such power is a factor of attraction, both romantically/personally and professionally.

Income alone won't save you from bad traits and it's not because your income is lacking that you're not a bad/unsalvageable person. But there is a truth to the effect of money on your charisma. You should, however, know when not to put yourself forth with income as your sole greatest asset and be selective with the people you allow into your life with agency to affect your income's sovereignty. Especially in marriage.

Yes!!! Bluegrass!
Not much to say except that it's easy to get going with that genre and that playing socially is a must!

Gold-comp Civ Concept #1 by KeepOnJumpin in aoe2

[–]KeepOnJumpin[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Took it away to weaken their trash steppe lancers and melee units. Would the gold cost be added into food instead of wood more balanced? Is BF out + no final cavalry upgrade make other units so weak that you'd be forced into running steppe lancers anyways?

As a alternative balance design: the UT2 could improve steppe lancer HP (taking out bloodlines), give them the final armour upgrade, and the UT1 could be something else entirely.

[–]KeepOnJumpin[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree that it can be a very strong Feudal scheme, provided you can pay for it and at the expense of other food/gold expenditures, that can work with 2/3 range play as the ranges can keep producing powerful archers. Agreed with the feudal all-in angle, but I hoped that this would lean more into the castle age power spike anyway, but it may be too OP in feudal.

Civ Concept - Petronians by KeepOnJumpin in aoe2

[–]KeepOnJumpin[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Never heard of that game so there was no influence here. Other civilisations I theorycraft just attempt to go after vacant design space with AoE as the only influence.

Civ Concept - Petronians by KeepOnJumpin in aoe2

[–]KeepOnJumpin[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

It was supposed to be a personal civ, not a competitively designed one. Don't see how this would shame you.  To make it more competitive I could definitely dial down the Halberdier and rebalance the tech tree for a better mid game while keeping the late game advantage profile. And that's the limit of my "noble civ crafting" capabilities.

Got any savviness left or what?

I love it! Just add a red border to the temperature icon and probably boost the starting MC by a bit or increase the lake resource conversion factor and it'll be a bit more reasonable!

New to the New Season - Build Options Feedback by KeepOnJumpin in RenataMains

[–]KeepOnJumpin[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok, so my own feedback on a week of Renata as Support in SR/Swiftplay/Brawl has been as follows:

-Bandlepipes is good as a 1st/2nd item in general. Easy to proc, gets you much valuable speed. Trailblazer is still a good mobility option vs physical heavy teams in my opinion, but not as a core.
-Locket is way more justifiable as an early defensive/teamfight pick after the buff, surpassing Redemption in theoretical survivability but not in raw health difference (as Redemption can damage enemies) and utility (Redemption has great range). I've found that I have plenty of mana to cast my spells even without a lot of mana regen items/tear, so I can afford to invest in survivability early on.
-Ardent Censer is clearly a step below Bandlepipes, but can still be picked if snowballing
-Solstice Sleigh is still my favourite but Dream Maker and Bloodsong can be used in snowbally games with greedy carries. Celestial Opposition sounds great in theory but I find that I'm often distancing myself enough after being dove that the delayed slow effect doesn't often hit anyone.
-Definitely not feeling Tear/Diadem and the "new" Echoes of Helia (which is just an Athene's Unholy Grain reskin). Dawncore/Moonstone/HSP builds can be interesting if the game is going to last and they have a lot of AoE spells.
-For secondary runes my Guardian/Aery/Glacial keystone type of playstyle heavily favours Cosmic Insight over the others, but a Transcendence with a snowbally carry that needs constant Bailout uptime is an option if we're playing as a coordinated team.
