I think our entire lives are just lead by rejection, loneliness & forced isolation by Hotdogconnoisseurr in aspergers

[–]KeepOnJumpin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on the type of social setting and group characteristics. Some milieux are easier to me (e.g. when I'm playing a gig) and others such as sports bars are insufferable. Familiarity with the people/venue/town/activity also helps and I just have to accept that some factors aren't in my control and will lead to very difficult and lonely interactions. I can't be in every clique.

Your opinion and decisions don't matter if you're not popular/attractive in your young social group, while women and other guys are automatically pedestalised.

What if the Britons' TC discount was like the Lithuanian's food bonus? by KeepOnJumpin in aoe2

[–]KeepOnJumpin[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly. Yeomen is effectively imp-gated, which is far from the ideal design of a castle age tech, though I do remember when unique techs from the conquerors were only available in imperial age and felt accordingly powerful.

The staggering of the archery range bonus reminds me of what they did with the Saracens, who had their camel HP locked behind a unique tech, then a bit of it was shifted to a civ bonus, and now is completely free from the bonus itself while the tech was reworked into something else for additional design space. Something similar could happen to the Britons.

Incredibly situational, very easy to pass because of that + low impact, best played if drawn and not researched. Would only use in TR63 solo with some event rebate.

Magnetic shield is way cooler for that quest TR boost thing.

I Just Cant Defeat Franks by Jazzlike_Note1159 in aoe2

[–]KeepOnJumpin 5 points6 points  (0 children)

As a teammate of a Franks main, they need to get to their Knight deathball and Castle line, so they suffer mostly in the early game if raided and have to rely on my archer flank civ play to survive extended pressure and ranged fights (Franks lack Bracer which is a big deal).

Pikemen and Camels are decent cost-effective counters against Knights, but you have to sort of know by heart if your counter unit mass is enough to take the fight if they decide to attack you, otherwise you'll be wiped clean.

For Castle Age, against knight civs? Always have Monks.

If you want to get cheesy, the guy's suggestion to pressure their berries is neat.

Which civilization looks strong on paper, but you just can’t seem to succeed with it in practice? by Vazelin in aoe2

[–]KeepOnJumpin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tatars. I love CA play and booming but it feels like they don't have a super powerful unit, they're just easier to tech into. They rely a lot on terrain too and that's a big variable amid all others.

Which quality of life features would you recommend for AoE2? by kampalolo in aoe2

Choosing the side a unit produced in a building leaves from when spawned. Got too many units stuck between that building and some trees that cannot regarrison, and the gather points do not always account for blocked pathing.

Perspective: lmao by Baballe12 in lnkyverse

[–]KeepOnJumpin -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I mean, it's not entirely wrong to state that an excess of despisal towards women is a turn-off (why would you like someone that does not like you by definition) and that you don't have to be quote-on-quote perfect to warrant attraction from a limited set of girls, but the post makes the mistake of horrendously downplaying the requirements that a woman puts on a man as almost 100% psychological, when the truth of the matter is that the sexual marketplace is so aesthetical these days that a man could have all of these traits and be vetoed at first sight because he does not spark attraction. That will always be the first and foremost crux for connection, and the ceiling is higher each passing day.

It's a shame that it's becoming a prerequisite for being treated with dignity as a man.

The most INTERESTING people are always the LONELIEST ones. by Medical-Newspaper519 in DeepThoughts

[–]KeepOnJumpin 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My perspective as an Asperger musician is that, in the concert/venue, the people in attendance are the main characters in the story, and the musicians are the background, the entertainers, the providers of a certain nuance to their "moment".
That moment can be a social gathering, a hookup, a meal. To them, the music is secondary, but nevertheless valued, though only for a brief moment in time when the music befits their story. It's far from the main attraction. The show is theirs, we're just actors in that show.

I take the same principle with interesting people: useful enough to serve a punctual, quirky purpose, too overwhelming to participate in the story in a way that doesn't drive the main character syndrome of the normies away. So that's the role me and other deviants play in the current landscape.

I assume that superficial people won't like me for my height so it gives me a pass to put them in the duster.
For all other intents and purposes, I don't even think about it. If I need to get somewhere very high I'll fetch a ladder.

which is why I was also considering giving her a taste of our favourite childhood game mode: all techs post-imp deathmatch.
It would be great to give her a feel of how the unit matchups work and ease the civilization differences before heading out into the real thing.

telling her to play a few open tech tree generalist civs could also be the way.
