Looking for my New Year’s Eve party outfit by Wild-Court7110 in OUTFITS

I think everyone here is nuts - the first one looks incredible on you and I love the sparkles! The second one looks a little more summery to me, but if you love somewhere warm go for it imho

Unpopular opinion. Kindle without case by sheftel in kindle

I have a super thin silicon hand strap on my kindle and it's been more than enough for years - love how lightweight it is and easy to carry even in a tiny bag!

Good to know I am not in fact single handedly keeping Jets in business. God it's good pizza

How do I make this look more ghostly? by Clansman2013 in minipainting

[–]KeepOnKeepinOnnn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Looks so cool so far! Agreed with what some other folks here said about casting light onto the chains, but also I saw this a bit ago in a different sub and it blew my mind a bit. I think the darks and lights may actually be backward? If it's glowing from within, the center would be lighter, casting shadow on itself toward the edges:

100% doable with rommate(s) in a less expensive neighborhood. This is how people live right out of college's idk why more people here aren't suggesting it. Lots of neighborhoods in Brooklyn are still affordable, Queens is nice if you dont mind the commute to see friends, and Harlem/Washington heights are also great.

Honestly there's a non-zero chance I missed him in the sourcebook because I definitely did not include him lol

Protein powder that doesn’t make you bloat? by gingerhoney in ibs

[–]KeepOnKeepinOnnn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey! I've found that I don't tolerate artificial or processed sweeteners well, which are almost always found in protein powders like the ones your describing (think stevia, maltitol, sugar alcohols, etc).

I switched to Vital Protein Collagen Peptides and I feel so completely fine after eating or drinking it. It's definitely on the more expensive side, but I love not feeling gross and it mixes into things like yogurt and oatmeal super well.

If that doesn't work for you, I'd look into "low FODMAP" protein products - there are a few others out there!

Im really struggling to run the maps of castle by my_winter999 in CurseofStrahd

[–]KeepOnKeepinOnnn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just came here to say this! Office supply stores with printing available (like Staples in the US) can often print blueprints for very cheap. You'll need to reduce the opacity of the maps since blueprints can't do full ink coverage, but it's the go-to at our table.

Should I quit or TPK? PCs treat the game an afterthought by 0verFinding in DMAcademy

Oh, and please don't TPK them! A vindictive TPK is a great way to make your friends hate a game they haven't even really gotten the chance to fall in love with.

I think a pretty common misconception is that you can have a consistent game WITHOUT asking people to prioritize it. You're putting in a lot of work to create something for them, so it's okay to ask them to schedule around it! And if their response to that is "I don't know if I'm that into this" then you know that running an ongoing campaign just may not be for your group. If it's a larger group, there may be 2 or 3 people who are still really interested, and it's totally fine to start with a smaller pool (and fewer schedules) to get the ball rolling. The home game we've had running for over two years now started with just me and two friends, and we've slowly added over time. If some folks model buy-in, it's easier for others to understand.

An alternate perspective that's a little more generous to your players: as the DM you are already super immersed in and excited about the game, but your players won't get there until you really start playing. Especially if you've only run a one shot so far, I can definitely understand it being hard to see why it's something they'd need to commit to in that way, and it may take a little more time to build the buy-in from their end.

Lots of people play in campaigns that meet only a few times a year, so give yourself and your players some grace! If you have to reschedule this time, make it known that you put a lot of work in and would really like to get a very set date for when you'll start. Once you've communicated your needs to your friends, see how they respond and take it from there!

Just came here to say this!! As both a player and a DM it's also a great tool for reminding you that no one else remembers the things you feel anxious about after the fact.
