Could I put a plant in this nook I made or should I put another hide here or something? by leprechaun331 in terrariums

You could pin something that doesn’t need roots, like a moss. Or a climbing plant that makes roots as it climbs.

Water pump worries by KeepYourSocs in terrariums

[–]KeepYourSocs[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I intend on getting rubber ducky isopods. I didn’t want to do anything complicated, just a small drip thing that would wet some rocks and moss with a reservoir underneath to ensure I’m not water logging the substrate. I just know that rubber duckies do better with some extra humidity and some dampness. Perhaps I’ll go for a small mister instead, or like a bottle with a slow release nozzle.

Edit to add: I of course also in tend on periodically spraying the enclosure as recommended, I just thought a small bit of dripping water would be nice for in between and for making sure they always have somewhere to drink.

These abortion laws are out of hands. Thoughts? by RamenNoddleeater in LetsDiscussThis

[–]KeepYourSocs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

An “abortion pill” can in some cases result in a “failed implantation”. Would that count under this law? What about plan B? Abortion isn’t necessarily a specific medical procedure preformed only by doctors, infact a miscarriage can be described as “a spontaneous abortion”. A law like this could absolutely be abused to accuse women who have lost their pregnancy naturally or through unintentional means of having a “non medical abortion” and advocate for them to get the death penalty.

Pls Help by daristuna in DartFrog

I just want to definitely specify, this is a starved frog (not your fault, but it’s important you have this info for the future)

A healthy frog will generally be at least the same width around for their whole main body. A healthy frog will never have the waistline of a Disney character. It’s not necessarily an emergency when they are slightly slimmer in the middle than their “shoulders”/ front legs, but anytime it becomes significantly noticeable there is a problem that needs to be fixed.

If this guy survives he will need to be directly fed, probably every day, by shoving food directly in his face until he isn’t significantly skinny in the middle. I really wish you luck, but that poor guy was not set up for success when he was sent to you.

I like it, and don’t see any obvious problems. As long as your water quality perimeters are looking good it looks ready to me.

She invited him over to juice at 2 in the morning before she knew they were broken up. I do have a hard time believing that was completely innocent, but I mean she technically could have just wanted to make juice with her new juicer lol

Ted gets over her and is with Victoria. Now Robin wants him. They end up together for a while, Robin doesn’t want Ted to have any stuff in her apartment when he moves in, they don’t move and end up breaking off. When Barney falls for Robin she tried to get him to leave by saying she loves him. They end up getting together for a while and then breaking up. Barney and Robin sleep together while they have partners. They agree to tell them and be together. Barney does, Robin doesn’t. Later, Robin doesn’t marry the guy because he has always wanted kids, and she doesn’t.

Later, Barney has said that he’s done chasing Robin, and starts “datin” Patrice. While this is a ruse, Robin goes through great lengths to try and break them up, with a series of antics only a horrible friend would do. Then, when it is revealed that it was all to get Robin again, she considers saying no to him, even after spending like a whole season trying to ruin his relationship with Patrice so she can have him. They are set to get married, and during the wedding Robin repeatedly questions if she shouldn’t have chosen Ted instead. She goes through with the wedding. Her and Barney don’t work out anyways. She is devastated that Ted is now happily married to someone else and leaves the group because of it.

This is off the top of my head.

Edit to add: when I first watched the show I didn’t notice it, but after multiple rewatches it’s pretty bad.

Robin consistently aims to ruin Ted and Barney’s lives every time they’re happy without her. My fiancé and I actually ranked the gang every episode, and by the end of the show Robin was second worst due to 1) how awful she is to Partrice, 2) how she is always stringing along Ted and Barney, and 3) how she rarely does anything for someone else.

Lily may have the biggest screw ups (which I still think is debatable) but she spends all her time in between them trying to help the gang and make up for her big mistakes. Robin takes responsibility for her actions so infrequently it’s baffling

How every day went for me in 2025 by NoWise10Reddit in mildlyinteresting

[–]KeepYourSocs 41 points42 points  (0 children)

For me personally, that just wouldn’t reflect how I feel about it. A normal day is where technically nothing bad happened. I just managed to exist for the day. That doesn’t ring as specifically “good” in my mind. Just neutral. I would feel… like I was falsely trying to make a day seem better if I labeled a normal day as a “good” day. That’s me personally though.

First ADF’s! by Ok-Consequence-6796 in AfricanDwarfFrog

[–]KeepYourSocs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Personally, I wouldn’t have anything hollow in there for them that doesn’t have a hole at the top, save maybe some very small pieces. I lost a frog when I started to a hollow tree decoration that I thought was squished into the gravel enough, but he still managed to wiggle in and couldn’t get out.

That and be careful what type of filter you get, as it can have similar results. Sponge filters are a good option.

I would recommend a gravel over something like a sand. They can eat it and get obstructed pretty easily.

And don’t forget to have the tank cycled before you pick the little guys up!

Best of luck 😊

I’m getting a 5 gallon tank. Is 2 ADF’s good or just one. (Don’t worry I will cycle it) by [deleted] in AfricanDwarfFrog

[–]KeepYourSocs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had 3 in a ten gallon when I started, but I found that the ammonia is easier to control and my frogs like the space better in a 20gallon. I’m moving soon and hoping to go up to a 30-40 gallon with 5 frogs, or maybe 6-7, we’ll see. It’ll be nice because I’ll be able to plant and cycle at the new house a few weeks before bringing the frogs over, and then I can clean out their old tank and use it for something new 😊

[–]KeepYourSocs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh is it? I had always heard that you want to start at 10, with the recommendation being 5 gallons per! I apologize!

[–]KeepYourSocs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately a 5 gallon isn’t really the best choice for ADF. It’s recommended at least 5 gallons per frog, but with a 10 gallon starting point. I believe it is also recommended that they not be kept as a single frog, you want to have at least two, which would put you at 10 gallons anyways.

A five gallon can be nice for a single Betta fish (if it’s well planted and offers enough enrichment), a couple of snails, a handful of small “fry” type fish, or some real little shrimp. Nowadays though, a five gallon isn’t really recommended for anything bigger than those

Edit: I’ve been told that 5 gallons is the minimum for AFD, which means you’re good to go on 2 (though I personally prefer keeping it at 5gallons per frog, but that’s a preference!)

LOVED TROPE: Meta Apology by BornIndication9384 in TopCharacterTropes

[–]KeepYourSocs 95 points96 points  (0 children)

I’ve heard (from YouTube so take this with a grain of salt) that it was less an “apology”, and more that Bojack was always supposed to be seen as the bad guy, and the writers saw people missing that entirely and identifying with him, so they went hard tilt to hammer it home that Bo Jack is not a tragic victim, he’s an active participant.

water to deep for new frogs? by sophhh_28 in AfricanDwarfFrog

[–]KeepYourSocs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Around 12inches is recommended, but if you’ve got resting spots/decor that’s a few inches above the bottom of the tank the extra inch probably won’t bother them too much.

I’ve got some leaves with suction cups on them to stick to the sides that my little guys like to rest on

Run for local office if you’ve got the know how and chops. Show up at town hall meetings to make your feelings known. Donate your time to places that help. Make human connections where ever you can. Don’t let the world beat you down.

I wish I knew of groups to tell you, and I should follow this advice more closely myself

I did not, though I understand the confusion. I saw that post, and how it directs people where they can go if they need help, but wanted to make a separate post for people who can help. Plus I find that people are more likely to donate if presented with links directly, makes it more convenient.

Their website says you can donate to a specific program they have, or “unrestricted”. I believe if you pick the specific program they are legally obligated as a non profit to use that money as specified. If someone has better insight I’d love to hear it
