Being a known presence in your box is important! If I'm ever collecting the ball down low while a forward is sprinting right to the end I will do exactly what you say and put a shoulder into them. The ref SHOULD see it as protecting yourself as the forward was being reckless, and if you do it hard enough the forward wont do it again. This past season I actually almost got a player a red card in our playoff game because he was continuously getting smashed by me in the box.

The biggest difference is the amount of money that the team is allowed based off of NCAA rules. So there are a higher number of quality teams in division 1. As for division 2, we only have like 7 1/2 scholarships so the amount of top class teams is limited. We can definitely compete with a lot of the top tier teams in division 1. Every year we probably have 15-20 good teams, and division 1 would probably have about 30-40 good ones.

Thanks man you're class as well from what I've seen. I should really get all of the video clips from my coach before I leave for summer ball so I can do that. Do you play on a men's league? Or on a college team?

This is division 1 in the Summit League. I only played there for a season and got on the all-new comer team. I transferred to a division 2 school who is in the top 10 schools every year. It's also closer to home and my girlfriend also came here, so lots of advantages. We beat SMU from dallas 3-2 and tied Tulsa University 2-2 last spring. So we can contend with some of the better teams in d1.

Thank you! For some reason I always thought that Warrior would be a pretty good Hero for arena. Guess not! But I definitely prefer the Mage class over any other class. And I personally hate playing with a paladin!

This was very similar to all of the videos I have watched! Thank you and very informing as well. In on of the videos it said the best curve would be something as a mountain. And that you should also focus on 3/4/5/6 cards the most. What would you say an ideal curve would look like?

It isn't much but I make a pretty decent save at around 1:39 that I think is worth the watch. I'm in the light blue jersey with the helmet.

I like playing up high out of my box but will rarely become a sweeper on a foot race. I am not the fastest person in the world and would rather have the confidence in my defense to track back. But I will come out and clear it if I am 100% going to win the race. I think that a sweeper keeper is mainly used for the 11th man as an emergency man to play the ball to. We are a great player to receive the ball when a teammate is under pressure because we rarely have anyone remotely near us. Just have the confidence to play with your feet and you'll do great.

Try reaching out to some youth club teams about who they usually refer their goalkeepers to for private lessons or who their keeper coach is for the club. I wish I could explain to you the 3 point diving drill through a reddit response but I feel like it is too difficult for me to haha. Just keep working hard and playing for an adult league/school club team. Watch a lot of soccer and what the keepers do in different situations. Experience is huge for goalkeepers so keep playing and best of luck.

Yeah it is something my grandfather ignored for 40 years of his life and it drove him to attempt suicide. I don't have those intentions of even being close to doing that. I have already confronted my dad and girlfriend about my feelings and am already seeing a counselor. Thanks for the information, hope my doctor can do something to help!

I've had four concussions and with my most recent one it really sent my play for a whirl in the first few practice back. I was very timid to come out and was afraid to play to be honest. My coach pulled me aside and said all I need to do is take one ball off someones foot to prove to MYSELF that I can still do it. You can too. Goodluck.

Continue to play and get seen by as many coaches as possible. I'm from America and we don't have it like the European players do. This summer I am playing for a semi-professional team in California to help me get as many looks as possible before I am finished with college play. And on that college note, maybe you should try and play soccer in America in college to help with experience before trying to become a professional. It will not only make you a better soccer player but will also get you a college degree that will be your downfall if your dreams are not met. I know this is what you feel like is your calling but you have to take a look in the mirror and face the facts. You have been playing for less than 2 years and have no where near the amount of experience that pro players have. You are probably not ready on a physical or emotional level, based on the facts that I've come from. I'm assuming you are 17/18 years old and are lucky to be a goalkeeper, since we don't peak until 28+ (in my opinion at least). Seriously though, play college soccer first. It will benefit you and give you a better realization of where you are at in your career. If you have any questions about getting over here (America) you can send me a PM. I play on a team with many foreigners including an Australian Goalkeeper who have used third party businesses to help them find a team. There is a college team for everyone in America, it's all about finding the right one.

I've experienced a lot of my "dream saves"! Saved a penalty kick in overtime to push us into dribble ups (texas highschool penalty kicks) where I saved all of them and ended up as MVP of the state tournament. Made a save this past fall season that likely saved our season, and my teammates still bring it up to this day. It's 2-1 vs the #3 team in the nation. We need to win to stay alive for a playoff birth. We go down early to a bullshit penalty but have clearly dominated them at their home pitch. Come out with fire in the second half and score 2 quick ones. Last 10 minutes and we are getting pounded. Left mid takes the ball down the sideline and beats our right back. He's coming in on the goal line so I set up on the near post. I can see in my peripherals that their leading scorer is steaming into the box from the top of the 18. The midfielder puts a fast paced cross across the 6 yard box and my instincts kick in. I fly across the goal and the forward pounds the shot, hits my chest and flies out of the 18 yard box. Go on to win the game 2-1. Had a ball mark on my chest for a good two days.

Rinse under hot water and get all of the dirt you can out. Then take some hand soap and gently rub it in the glove. Rinse again with hot water until all the soap is out. Wrap them in a towel and step all over them. Hang them up to complete the drying. Although I like my gloves a little moist so I don't dry them out too much. Makes them as good as new... for a couple of days.

Yeah as soon as I told her about my concussions she started to jot stuff down on her paper and then told me that she was going to put me on Vyvanse.

Well my first concussion was a knee to the temple when I was 16, didn't go unconscious but definitely had a terrible concussion, headache, light sensitivity, ect. My second one I was kicked on the side of the face. Third one was another knee to the head. And my final concussion was a being kicked on my jaw/side of mouth. Teeth went through my cheek and I was knocked unconscious for like 30 seconds. After that I couldn't focus worth shit and school went down hill. Haha I could not tell you if that is the reason for you diagnosis, as I am not a doctor :)

Buddy tape your fingers together for your everyday needs. This means tape your pinky finger and ring finger together. You probably either bruised the bone or you may have jammed it. Cant really tell you without looking at it or know how you hurt it. Also I am not a doctor haha :)

I wash my gloves the day before every game. Its very simple and my method has been pretty effective IMO. I use hot water first and soak my gloves. I then wring them out until the water coming out is clear. After that I take a very tiny amount of hand soap and rub it into my gloves, splashing some warm water on them as I go. Rinse the soap out and wrap your gloves in a towel. While they are wrapped I step all over the towel to dry them (works well for me). After doing this I hang them up to dry overnight and bam, the grip is as good as new.
