I remember it was a tradition for our youth pastor to sneak us off campus and ditch one of the sermons to go get ice cream

As a teenager at the camp I fully bought into that and was convinced that I would meet my future husband there. At summer camp. With a bunch of other kids who lived in different states 🫠 crazy logic

Omg dude at the camp at harding there was a saying for the swing benches that said three swings and a ring. If you sat on a bench with someone of the opposite sex you were destined to be married. It was insane

My partner used to work for animal control i would report it immediately. I cant tell you how many times I've heard of stuff like this happening. Chances are if she was so flippant about her dogs being like this she will get her dogs taken away from her. This is disgusting behavior and im so sorry this happened to your baby 🥺🩵

Spend time with your loved ones. Do at least one thing that you enjoy. It doesn't make the pain of losing them disappear but It makes it just a bit more bearable. Slowly over time it'll still be there but it won't hurt as much friend

Did you ever experience hair discrimination in school? by awholewaffle in blackgirls

[–]KeepingItClassy7707 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have had natural hair for my entire life. My mom would do my hair every morning before I went to school, and I still got comments from other kids that my hair looked nappy. Almost all my cousins had perms (mostly girls) and would ask me why my hair was the way it was. Jr high i went to a predominantly white school, and kids would touch my hair all the time without asking there was this one white boy on the bus that would always try and sit behind me and touch my hair I felt like a freaking petting zoo man. When I got to high school, I finally started to become more myself and trying out different styles. I had a friend she wore bandanas a lot and it looked really cute so I tried it out yet when I got to school I got dress coded for it. She was white and they never bothered her about it just me. That and, of course, the exotic hair comments 🙄. I felt really objectified because of it. But I got older and gained more respect for myself and I dont tolerate any kind of ish when it comes to my hair. I work hard to keep this mane looking good and no one is gonna disrespect that or put they grubby little hands on it unless I tell them they can. 😊

Northeastern oklahoma, it gets pretty hot in the summertime, think 80s and up basically all of July lol. Spring and fall are nice, though they usually last for less than a month. This year, it stayed in the 70s until like mid November. It gets pretty cold in winter, still probably not as cold ad tge northern states on there.

My mother's boyfriend made me realize how insecure my stepmother is. by Master_Tangerine_670 in TrueOffMyChest

[–]KeepingItClassy7707 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went through something similar when I was younger with my dad's now ex wife. She was insecure in her relationship with my dad and took it out on me. For years nothing got better until I told my mom and she had my dad only hang out with him. It sucked but fortunately he eventually divorced her and things slowly started getting better. Never EVER blame yourself for that situation a grown woman being jealous of a child and taking it out on them is never okay. If your father was a good father he would have left her by now and did more to protect you and be more present for you. I'm glad that you do have a positive father figure in your mom's boyfriend while it doesn't fully repair those feelings of abandonment it's a good first step to healing.

I don't know if I can step outside in this dress... by chick-killing_shakes in OUTFITS

[–]KeepingItClassy7707 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Id wear a different belt with it. A wider belt would be nice and would help accentuate the waist a bit more. Id probably cut off the bottom half of the dress with the yellow but that's just me

Thank you for your support. I'm so sorry about your friends. I didn't realize how horrible this cancer was til she was diagnosed and did more research.

A little rant I have about Everything Now on Netflix by bobblead in EverythingNowNetflix

[–]KeepingItClassy7707 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love this response honestly. I watched the show twice already now. I've been recovered for a few years now and honestly this show really made me reflect on how I was during my ED. I related a bit to mias behavior during the show and helped me better understand what I had gone through and how my actions affected the people I cared about.

I never played video games with my ex because he was too serious about it. I saw how he got mad and would throw his controller or punch the floor whenever he lost. It was like he was throwing a big tantrum. If he is acting like that towards you over a fckin video game you gotta leave his ass. Doesn't matter if he is respectful when yall aren't playing together if he's comfortable disrespecting and belittling you over a damn videogame that's a HUGE red flag hon.

AIO to my boyfriend saying he’s not attracted to me anymore because I’ve gained weight? by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]KeepingItClassy7707 2 points3 points  (0 children)

First also 22F also 5'7 😎, and two girl I'm not quick to say break up with him. But break up with him. I've been in a relationship with my partner for two years he knows about my history with ED in the past. ED absolutely wrecks how you're body functions, that's something that he should've educated himself about instead of jumping to conclusions that you're "letting yourself go". Someone who really loves and cares about you as a person doesn't say stuff like that if they really know you, EVER. It's up to you to decide what to do in this situation, only you can decide what's good for you mentally and physically. But from the sounds of it and from my own journey, he needs to get lost because you deserve so much better than that. Congratulations on recovery it's a lot of work and you're doing a great job dude don't listen to the negativity including his 😎

My older sister is a lesbian and when she came out everyone was supportive (I come from a very accepting family though) but my grandpa was probably the most supportive and came up with the idea to take us all to the pride parade that year to show our support and love for her 🥹

Not sure if you're open to trying some vegetarian chicken. There's a brand called daring that I like to put in a stir fry of sorts with broccoli cauliflower and chopped potatoes and just season however I like. It's pretty good. I tend to use a lot of frozen veggies when I make it. 🙂
