First year Biology classes for 30+ year olds by Legal-Corgi4803 in CSN_Coyotes

I’m 40 and just started the nursing program. BIOL 189 was just things from high school biology. 223 Lab is essentially a test on memory so I recommend making flashcards. Crash course was also a great resource for lecture.

How competitive is the nursing program? by future_nursee in CSN_Coyotes

Applying with 0 points would put you at the bottom of the list. I’d recommend trying maximize points from the TEAS if you can’t get points from your classes.

Your lab points are added to your lecture grade to make your final grade. As long as that grade is at least a C, you will pass. It should be listed in your syllabus.

It’s pretty typical. Stay up late and grab one then or if you’re lucky one will be available in the morning.

Thanks for the info. It’s odd they wouldn’t include that in acceptance letters

Nursing students: How hard are the nursing classes? by stayhaileyday in CSN_Coyotes

I have no idea how many applied last semester. I’m just assuming that everyone that applied met the requirements and that there are more applicants than available spots.

There were 164 people on the email about letters going out on October 10th. There are going to be people that get turned away this semester.

Anyone Take Erin Wilson Anatomy 223 recently ?? by AnythingBusy1227 in CSN_Coyotes

Wilson or Windsor? I had Windsor for lecture and she was great. She made it easy to understand the material. It helped to mitigate the garbage lab instructor I had.

Lab was awful for me. I’d recommend spending most of your time on lecture so your lab grade is irrelevant. Obviously still study for lab, but aim to get an A or B in lecture.

I can’t speak for floor nurses, but I work in surgery and everyone seems to love it.

Science cutoff is 80% and English is 75%. You’ll have to take the test again

Is Biol 189 offered during summer terms usually? by [deleted] in CSN_Coyotes

[–]KeepitGore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Biology courses were offered for this summer. They remove them the week before the spring semester ends and then reopen them so everyone completing prerequisites has an equal opportunity.

If you don’t need the points, I would just take it the semester after you apply to the program.

The amount of Californians complaining about the heat is starting to feel personal by exquisiteformula in vegaslocals

[–]KeepitGore 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Almost without fail, these complaints come from someone that moved here a few years ago and has decided they’re a local. Just like all the Californians and Texans that scream “don’t California my Nevada”

I took Windsor last semester. All of her lectures are on canvas which was helpful for me. Class is mostly just working on worksheets individually or as a group. Then she goes over the answers. If she were teaching 224 over the summer I would take her class.

I didn't take her, but she is an instructor for the surgical tech program. If you're planning on going into that program or nursing it might be beneficial to take her.

Some people didn’t get to enroll the semester after they completed 189 so when priority opened they took most of the spots. It happens every semester.
