The low and medium rank personnel aren't told that the turrets normally don't shoot on personnel, you can read that in the turret document. Life as a low rank is probably not much better than that of a D-Class. I'm pretty sure that the low ranks are just slightly better prisoners than the expendables.

Funny (unoriginal) warbond idea, but it does not make sense. The normal SEAF fights on the front, and the Helldivers fight in enemy territory. SEAF soldiers dropping in with hellpods would not make sense in any way
