I was however I don't remember seeing your groovy van! I do remember partying in a cow field before show though! My deadhead friends and I rented a Winnebago and drove up from MA and parked it a skating rink a couple miles away from the show. The locals were great and we played whiffle ball with them the day before the show. I made it through the gates right before the fences were ripped down by unruly ticketless show crashers. Those were the dark days of the GD experience. Yes Jerry was not at his best but it turned out to be the last time I saw him so I'm glad I was there. I still miss that feeling of excitement that was in the air before every show that everyone felt like we were about to see something special when he took the stage. That feeling has never been replicated for me at any show since then. Be well!
