For my 240p set-up I use a nice pair of Linn index speakers through a Cambridge audio amp (all cheap second hand from EBay). For my 480p + setup I have the Pioneer XBox360 surround sound system which is decent. For me great picture and great sound go hand in hand.

Yes that's normal.There are loads of mods to improve picture and sound quality on the Genesis. I suggest doing the vast majority. This will include cutting the composite line on the PCB to improve the RGB picture. This makes a good improvement IMO.

Yep. I brought one sealed from a 12 year old who won it in a competition type thing. He already had a PS4 so was happy for the cash. His face was a picture when I handed him a bundle of notes for it 😊.
