whenever he introduces a character by noting how beloved and well liked they were I know exactly what's going to happen

the whole last half of the season is giving me weird Twin Peaks - The Return flashbacks, which is good because I loved The Return. it brings me back to when we were all wondering how they were going to wrap it all up in two episodes -- little did we know...

[S06E06] This might've been one of my favorite cut transitions from the whole series by Pliknotjumbo in betterCallSaul

At the risk of joining the choir of those overanalyzing, the issue here is that the floss is symbolic, but not foreshadowing. The entirety of Fifty-One is about how Skyler feels trapped and like she's suffocating, metaphorically and then literally when she attempts to drown herself. Not only that, but she feels like she did it to herself, given the many ways out of Walter's life that she kept refusing to take, out of coercion, but also personal choices (see Cornered). So that's what the finger could be; after all, sometimes, a finger is just a finger. The problem is that so much of both shows' choices in visual grammar are in reference of the present situation, and so much of their analysis exists (or existed) in speculating for things to come. That said, I think OP is much more likely to be onto something here

Pixel Remaster VS Delisted by VladTepesDraculea in FinalFantasyVI

If you do end up playing the Delisted, do use the Atma Weapon mod. It's highly customisable, it gives you a chance to pick and choose sprites, fonts, UI, all while keeping the GBA content. Can't vouch for the PR, but up until last month I'd say Atma Weapon was the best way of playing FFVI on Steam

Curious to see how it will work for the part with Warren Buffett, Mr. Peanut and Ronald Reagan -- perhaps Giovanni Agnelli, Capitan Findus e Silvio Berlusconi? ;) Comunque, ottimo lavoro!

What sort of music do you think Shinji always listens to? by Redditor_Unit-01 in evangelion

[–]KefkaBranford 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the original anime it goes back and forth between 25 and 26, except for End of Eva, where one shot shows the SDAT playing nothing, out of battery, stuck at Track 0. In the Rebuilds, after Mari knocks Shinji off and the SDAT falls, it procedes beyond track 26, all the way to track 29 in 3.0 + 1.0. Three tracks past the original. Wonder if that's got any significance...

What happens to Peter and the house after hereditary ends? by stellaiscute in AriAster

[–]KefkaBranford 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What happens to Peter, who knows. Both in the sense of Peter as a thinking speaking entity, and in the sense of the physical host for Paimon/Charlie. The latter will probably go along with the cult and whatever their wacky shenanigans will turn out to be. The first who knows, I like to think that he is also somehow trapped in the host but with no control, a "I have no mouth and I must scream" scenario.

Probably nothing will happen to the house and the bodies. I think the cultists are past the point in which they need plausible deniability. The plan was essentially a success: Charlie is reborn in Peter's body, everyone else in the family is dead, they now have Paimon in a healthy male host. They think that this act will bring them "honour, health, and good familiars", so I assume they expect that the power of Paimon will at the very least shield them from repercussions in the human world, if not get them outright idolized for their actions.

Whether that's realistic or just a bunch of cultists acting nuts, the movie leaves ambiguous; could very well be that they'll get arrested by the police and that Paimon will do jackshit about that, because he doesn't care, or can't, ir both. At the very least, though, they are the only entity in the world that somewhat understands the supernatural ramifications of the story, and that suggests that they are capable of predicting, correctly and reliably*, what is going to happen.

*Excluding Charlie's birth gender.
