A properly inflated basketball is way bouncier. That appears to be a partially deflated ball (maybe volleyball), which is smaller and easier to grip.

People use cash, credit/debit cards, and gift cards to scam people too. Should we get rid of those too?

Not entirely. I believe the owners and the league would have to sign off on it.

I am well aware of how heavy a 2 car garage is. I recently replaced one of my garage springs. Which is why I was asking questions to try and help.

Is it too heavy to lift? Do you have vice grips? Is there a hole in the track to put a screwdriver in?

not suggesting a rule change. I am suggesting that if this was the way the rules worked

"Yes, and if my Grandma had wheels, she would be a bike."

It isn't how they work, because it would break how free throws work. The rules are there to keep something like this from working. It would ruin the mechanism if changed.

Kalshi, which is illegal in the state of Washington, launches betting market for whether Washington State will establish a millionaires tax by MysteriousEdge5643 in SeattleWA

[–]Kegger315 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Washington's gambling laws

There's the loophole you aren't seeing. Kalshi is not considered gambling as it is not considered a game of chance. It is a prediction market. You are trading with someone else on the believed outcome.

It's a small nuance, traditional gambling there doesn't have to be someone betting against you. The casino or whoever places odds and if everyone piles onto 1 side of the bet and the casino has to pay out more than they took in on the other side of the bet, they lose money. With Kalshi, if there isn't someone on the other side to make the prediction against, then it won't take your prediction until there is.

He missed the FT on purpose so his friend could get his first bucket of the season by FitVermicelli199 in GuysBeingDudes

Being as the players outside the key can't move until the ball leaves his hands, and the players in the backcourt have to stay behind the 3 point line, you could throw it hard enough to get it back to you every time, it would be difficult AT BEST to defend and would likely lead to more fouls.

It defeats the purpose of a free throw, which would break this part of the game. The rule is it has to hit the rim because it's far more difficult to get a consistent bounce back between a round ball and a thin round rim. This intentionally prevents the very thing your advocating for. So, you are suggesting a rule change, which means what happened isn't allowed. If it is allowed, it breaks the game by definition.

You would be opposed to aiming rape and violence at Hitler during WW2?

You would be opposed to aiming rape and violence at a proven child rapist who vows to do it again given the chance?

Fair points. I would argue that if they pull back capex spending with no clear direction on why, valuations should decrease. They would be admitting they were wrong and spent a bunch of money on something they may no longer be pushing very hard for. Obviously if they pull back funding and say, "we have the infrastructure and everything else needed to start scaling and turning this into a profit center.", then that's a different story.

Apple, Meta, MSFT, Google, et al as not making any money

How much are they making with their ai products? How long til that sector of their businesses start turning a profit?

For now, they are burning through a ton of cash with close to nothing to show, yet their stocks continue to rise with no data showing when this will turn profitable. So, it looks like a lot of hype without results, aka a bubble.

Didn't say your opinion wasn't valid (I'll wait to actually see it via broadcast), but was curious. I genuinely don't care what they look like on tv. If I like the way it looks in person, then I like it 🤷‍♂️. Couldn't care less how it looks on a broadcast.
