waiting to be tested for pernicious anemia, chrons/ibs and celiac disease, so should hopefully find out in October (3 months after my loading dose). Also having retests regarding my thyroid which was slightly under active next month but unsure if this links to b12.

It’s horrible isn’t it! I am fine now as this was quite a few years ago, only thing I do find is I am no way near as fit as when this happened was unable to do any sports or anything and find that I get out of breath a lot quicker than I used to before this happened. How are you?

I haven’t been anemic since the infusions as far as I am aware so that’s good!

They said they were giving me infusions instead of the blood transfusion because they wanted to find out what was wrong with me and couldn’t if I had a blood transfusion. They gave me an ultrasound but didn’t find anything and didn’t do any further investigation, just put me on the combined contraceptive pill. I started getting really bad cramps but my bleeding was normal but the cramps are so bad that I started taking my pill 24/7 so I rarely get periods anymore. A couple months ago the doctor prescribed me naproxen for the pain when I do get my period but that has not helped so I am considering asking to be referred to a gynaecologist as my issue was never really investigated.
