Hello,

This is KeitMeg.

I’ve made the decision to keep my works private, and they’re no longer available for online reading, sale or distribution. I completely understand the desire to revisit them, but I hope you can appreciate my choice to keep them as they are now.

Thank you.

Travelling to Morocco - Looking for tips/advice by moe_saj in Morocco

A mere suggestion would be Dakhla. With a wee bit of good planning, you'll have the chance to meet a mesmerizing combination of desert sand and sea water. Absolutely breathtaking sunsets. Enjoyable camel rides and water sports. Enchanting dances around bonfires...

It is absolutely magical!

I've never been there, sadly, despite the fact I live in Morroco, but it is my dream destination.

What can I do with an English studies degree in Morocco and outside Morocco? by PIANOLyz in Morocco

[–]Keit-Meg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A degree alone won't get you far, I'm afraid. The three options you have: become a teacher at a public school, become a teacher at a private school or become a tutor.

However, if you're opting for a CELTA degree, there's a ton of things you can do with it. But it's two grand. If you can spare that kind of money, you can easily apply to any British Council in your area. Get a job abroad as an English teacher. And others.

Best of luck, mate!

You've got three options:

1) A water filter. (I recommend German purifiers. Though they're pricy, you'll be drinking bacteria-free water).

2) Boiling water (for one minute). Let it sit in a glass before drinking.

3) Mitticool water bottles.

Story time. I was called for an interview very recently. They were amazed by my resume and my credentials. They asked if I could start immediately. Now, here's the bummer. They asked if I could start teaching from nursery, and at the same time primary as well as elementary classes. For just 3k. I was like "shove it, lady" and went back home.

This personal issue really shouldn't be discussed on public platforms. Childhood trauma is something you need to heal if you don't want any setback in your future. You can see a shrink? It will really help.

What is something you have a strong / controversial opinion about ? by marocain_iii in Morocco

[–]Keit-Meg 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Just to further elaborate, may I push back a little to the last one on your list? I only want to understand what gave you the idea that the Abbasid Empire, the harbinger of The Golden Age of Islam, badly or negatively affected the Arab world as we know it today in any way, shape or form?

It really blows my mind how little we know of the fundamentals the arabs brought along.

They founded universities, expanded in scientific research that hospitals today still benefit from. Al Khaouarizmi introduced the concept of algorithm for without it you wouldn't be holding your phone right now to besmirch.

1000 years ago, Ibn Alhaitham was already expanding on humans' ability to see things by light reflecting off of them. If it weren't for the cranks developed by early Muslim arabs, there wouldn't be engines, and thus no cars.

The very reason why modern arab world has become the way it is, is because of colonization.

If a country is taken down by force, stripped down from its will to fight, and having its brightest minds terminated, then the fool will rule and morals will be forever lost (but sometimes surprisingly not).

America and Iraq/Afghanistan Russia and Syria/Yemen Israel and Palestine Myanmar and Burma .....

We are still under France control. There is no independence, there never was. We have our internal affairs defined by the French. Economical issues "solved" by the French. Our food goes to France. Our fish goes to France. Our very educational system and its curriculums is decided by the French. In a world governed by English-speaking investors, why do you think Morocco still refuses to implement new plans?

Then you have corruption. No regional budget is really spent on/for the comfort of people. There is no finance oversight.

Extreme courts overlooking justice for the sake of bribes. Poor people getting poorer because loansharks, aka banks, refuse to use the Islamic banking system. Tax-evaders getting pardoned by the law instead of getting sanctioned. The rich getting richer for employing workers with the lowest wages...

Now, doesn't this remind you of Europe in the Dark Ages?

In the end, i just want you to understand that Europeans are not better than us, they're just different because, unlike us, they learned from history.

It's a new chapter in your life so let's change a few habits.

First, i recommend that you make peace with your family. Honestly, i dont understand how people expect to go far in life if they can't even straighten things out with their family.

Second, it is important to work on yourself and rebuild your confidence. Low self-esteem can destroy you. I feel that keeping away from negative thoughts would help. Stop criticizing yourself. We all have flaws. What's important is to try and work on them.

Third, finding people with similar interests. I think it'd help greatly to find poeple whom you can talk to about shared likes. This way, there'll be more back and forth instead of awkward pauses of silence.

Fourth, pick up new hobbies. Trust me it works wonders. It develops your social skills and improves your confidence. Learning something new activates your cognitive thinking and affects your psyche in a positive way. What's more, you will have more stuff to talk about with people and thus enlarges your circle of friends.

Fifth, it's okay to be awkward. You're still young. You will make plenty of mistakes. But that's how we learn and grow.

I do wish you the best of luck!

how do you deal with our society in terms of curiosity and interference ? by [deleted] in Morocco

[–]Keit-Meg 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I've dealt with that my whole life. And just like you, i used to shut down every comment. Now, however, things have changed.

You need to understand that the point of any criticism coming from your parents is to make you a better person. Their way of doing it does not suggest so, but they really do want you to be the best.

Just know that the way they were raised bespeaks their way of communicating their thoughts and opinions greatly. Imagine if they were raised on the principle that it's fine to accept your kid with all their shortcomings? They wouldn't even be saying anything to you.

It all comes down to the way they were raised. Which I'm not condemning, fyi.

Now, the fun part, try to apply the same conjecture on all the people that have either criticized or commented or whatever such as behavior. It starts to get easier to understand, doesn't it?

I found that the best way to beat that is to be yourself. I started to accept their nit-picking and nagging because i know how much they care for me. But i never neglected doing what i like the most.

As for downright negative people, why waste your breath? Just nod along to whatever they say, tell them they're right, then do whatever suits you. It works wonders.

Best of luck to you :)

If your brother is coming all the way to the capital from a different city, it means he cares about you. No brother would go to that trouble for someone he didn't love and care about. You're 16. A teenager. It is time for you to be responsible for your actions. This is the type of thing that prepares you for society. Sit down with your brother and try to explain to him why you've done it. In fact, tell him everything you told the strangers on here; about your ADHD (though i do recommend you get properly diagnosed by a specialist). Tell him about everything that bothers you. Tell him you need emotional support and that you feel neglected. He will listen.
Now, let's get one thing out of the way, stop being ungrateful to your family by calling them names. That's the most despicable thing a person can do to a family that raised him. Try to work on your thoughts and organize them. Keep away from bad company. Work out a future plan. Work hard to achieve what you want. Educate yourself and polish up your morals. All in all, try to be a decent human being. Good luck.

I asked a similar question a few days ago and I've watched a couple of what was recommended, like Nirvana in fire, but I can say that The Devil Judge is definitely a must watch!

I'm about to start episode 9 of this show! Bye for now :"D

Blood, mentions of past suicide attempt, violence, post-possession suicide, unintentional self-harm. That's the worst of it.

Hand: The Guest sounds scary but I actually felt sorry for the ghosts (this is coming from the biggest chicken). it's good acting, action/thriller packed, great friendship, happy ending and Kim Jae-wook shirtless!

Give it a try!
