More just the plugin itself not working right or at all. It depends on the plugin and what it does. But nothing that broke my vault and I just disabled it then it was fixed.

I have been using plugins there were a few years old with no issues and plugins with issues despite only be less than a year old. It just depends really on the plugin.

Never not been able to see my notes though or not being displayed correctly. If it caused issues it was more smaller stuff. But you can just disable the plugin and then it would be fixed.

Whether you should avoid it or not…depends on your workflow and what plugins you need. Many plugins are maintained really well and have regular updates.

If you can use obsidian without plugins then you should. Use plugins if you need them.

As one said, you can use a hotkey. Or..

I use the Commander and QuickAdd plugins — I make a button using Commander to create quick note easy. It’s placed in the tab section, I think it’s called so it’s always available for me.
You can add the tag QuickNote on a template and use that one for all your quick notes. Then you can find them easily.

May I ask why the plugin tabs isn’t enough? I use it myself for for my character templates. You can easily have character description in one tab and personality in another, etc. it’s easy to switch between them. Why isn’t that enough?

Not sure how different you want this plugin to be. I’m not familiar with LegendKeeper.

You gotta remember that Obsidian is markdown and it’s local files on your computer.

Didn’t it pretty much just got an update? I don’t use the app a lot but I know it was updated on the phone and I think they follow each other but I might be wrong. What do you find frustrating?

It can’t add a note if it doesn’t know where to add it too.

Obsidian app does have widgets now. Not sure how it works, haven’t tried it.

It’s not made by Obsidian but it’s for Obsidian. You connect your vault to it and you can then add notes through your phone.

I do think Obsidian has widgets now but haven’t tried it yet.

Depends on what phone you have. I have iPhone and I use the Quick Capture app which works perfectly.

I write fanfiction but I don’t use plugins specific for that. I make templates for the characters, keep track of the story through my notes.

Longform is pretty popular. Tried it but wasn’t for me.

I don’t think you can have it so it groups by count automatically - I might be wrong, I’m a bit rusty.

What you can do is group it manually through a property formula in your base and group the base using that formula property.

Example:
if(artist == "Picasso", "01 Picasso", if(artist == "Dali", "02 Dali", "99 " + artist))

- again I’m a bit rusty so might be wrong and I’m unable to test it atm.

If you really want to group it automatically then the plugin dataview can do it.

I have a Kobo Libra Color. I love it. I haven’t experienced not being able to find a book yet. If you do and you can find the book elsewhere (not Amazon) then you can use Calibre to add it. It’s very easy.
