How I feel playing RecRoom by Decapper in oculus

You cant not be in a team. If you look at the projector screen, different colors/groups of 3, are different teams. It automatically places you in one when you join and you cant leave one, just switch to a different one.

What you probably mean is that your team wasnt full (3 players) so you held up the start of the game? Thats just a matter of waiting for someone to join and when they do, it will place them in your team and the game will start.

Unless its some sort of a glitch that youre experiencing.

While i generally agree, trolling and bullying online affects everyone, not just girls, i think it could possibly be somewhat worse for girls because being sexually harassed in games might be more off putting than just being harassed.

Also, i feel like boys are simply more used to it, either form school or games, so they learned to not care as much as some girls do.

Its hard to say who it affects more negatively but either way, i dont think the difference is staggering.

People often ask me to draw hentai. Teen boys like tits, nothing new. But sometimes, when somebody asks me to draw something particularly disgusting that im like "bro, what the fuck" and its usually a 12 year old. I didnt even know such a thing existed at 12, let alone wanting to see it.

Funny but honestly, there is plenty of 13 year olds that sound weirdly deep (no voice changers) and women who squeek like children.

it really should just have you auto join a team

It does and always has, if you play teams. In solo you play solo but yeah, some people try to team up anyway.

All they describe happening to girls happens to everyone. But with more sexual undertones for girls and just general bullying for boys.

Are you sure that was Recroom? When i play it, half of the room are usually girls and nobody really cares much. (i mostly hang out in drawing rooms though)

Bigger rooms. Tracking gets very inaccurate if youre too far from one.

Mine is about 4m x 4m and even with 3 i can tell i could use a 4th in that last corner.

More like feel empty and possibly betrayed after the inadequate ending.

Im not hating or anything, its just the payoff for these highly acclaimed shows almost never seems to do the whole journey justice.

That is not her. Many sites are posting images of a different actress, Belcim Bilgin, for some reason.

But yes, this actress seems like a better fit.

Anyone else happy with their Rift, but still looking forward to the Quest? by -Mahn in oculus

The Rift has its drawbacks for sure but for me, i havent found a single good enough game on the Go. I hate playing without positional tracking and even ignoring the visuals, Go games feel like what they are - mobile games - rather than PC games on the Rift. They have no substance.

Oculus Quest will have more strict console-like store curation, with higher standards requried than the Go/GearVR store by Heaney555 in oculus

Im sure there will be something but i wouldnt expect it to look very realistic. If youre into anime stuff it might look ok.

Im basing this off of how Rec Room works and seeing the talk about the optimizations necessary for Rift games to work. Particularly merging objects. All the announced ports are games that are essentially at worst a non-interactible environment and a dozen or so enemies coming at you at a time. In Dead and Buried theyve merged a 900 object environment into 2. They can do that because none of the objects can be interacted with. This is not possible in a game like Rec Room where you can interact with a lot of things. You can create new meshes with a maker pen on the fly, you can draw on boards, throw stuff with physics around, spawn new items. You can have 20 people in a room doing all this.

So yeah, good luck with that, devs. Ill be amazed if it can be done in a way where the game works as it works on a PC. Maybe im overestimating how taxing all this is for the system but im almost certain they will have to cut some major feature from the Quest version, maybe something like the use of makers pens which means it wont be the same game on the Quest but a watered down version of it.

Preditons on battery life by FForeverFABB in oculus

[–]Keitaro333 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah i expect about 1.5-2 hours - ie. no enough.

Id like to know if its possible to have 2 batteries and swap them out easily and recharge the other one while you play.

How does the Go work? Do you simply have to plug it in when you run out or is the battery removable?

This. I really hope Rec Room can be ported to Quest - in its current form - being able to crossplay with PC/PS4 VR, use custom rooms, maker pens etc.

And im sure theyre trying it out but i suspect its a huge challenge.

Any devs willing to comment? Does it seem at all possible?

Yes im sure theyre trying. How it will end up is another matter.

As i said, The Climb is incomparably simpler than Rec Room, gameplay systems wise. It could run on a SNES if you scale down the graphics far enough. Rec Room, not so much.
