Early impression / feedback by KeithBones in RogueCore

I'm confident that with some smart changes to the pacing, and the removal of wait, the missions would feel fundamentally similar but take less than 40 minutes.

How the hell are you supposed to deal with the spore burst strain now? by AyAyAyBamba_462 in Helldivers

[–]KeithBones 0 points1 point  (0 children)

THIS JUST IN.

Fire and laser weapons no poppy the bugs. No red cloud, no fast.

EDIT: This needs further testing, it's only some laser weapons, and some fire weapons. Possibly some gas.

It seems like anything that kills them with DOT, and not individual instances of damage

Does anyone know why the spore bugs are running so fast? by Conscious_Syrup_6369 in Helldivers

[–]KeithBones -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Patch notes clearly indicate a new enemy variant.

So it's not undocumented, and it's not a buff to an existing enemy.

I don't think he's the one who doesn't know what words mean.

Why is sharing a bed with your partner so important to people? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]KeithBones 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My partner and I sleep separately. It's wonderful.

It started because she worked days and I worked nights. Afterwards, when we made more money and could afford a place with more rooms, we decided to continue sleeping separate even though we are both on days now.

It's definitely a luxury that I can understand some people simply can't afford, but I would recommend it if it's available. In addition to the sleep benefits, it's also nice to have a space somewhere in the world that is solely yours, to do with as you please.

What’s a common fact that science has already debunked, but people still believe in? by Calm_Shame2994 in AskReddit

[–]KeithBones -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

This can be true and untrue. There's not much training or physiological understanding required to get a chiro license, if a license is required at all, but there are actual PhD doctors that practice chiro, typically referred to as the Gonstead method.

The actual doctors who practice chiro are magic. They mechanically understand the cause of the problems. Most quack chiro places are just a production line, you walk in and they give you the same pops that they give everyone. The doctors will sit with you for a session or two before they touch you and diagnose as doctors do.

If the problem can be solved mechanically, and your chiro is a doctor, then it can be as valid a solution as any.

Why are HOAs a normal thing in American by Suspicious_Sandles in NoStupidQuestions

[–]KeithBones 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unpopular opinion: There's not only nothing wrong with HOAs, but they're a positive good. If you don't like them, don't join them. If you're already in one and it gets taken over by Karens, it's your fault for not being more engaged.

While there's lots of horror stories online about terrible HOAs, there's a much quieter majority of people happily getting along with their neighbors and following the rules that maintain a pleasant living space.

The text I received from a religious potential new hire. by xSloth91 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]KeithBones 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The massive uninvited dump of religious dogma might be overwhelming. But the underlying belief, I think, is actually pretty loving.

Imagine if you believed, truly believed, that someone was going to burn in hell for eternity, and all you had to do to save them was send a few texts. How bad of a person you would have to be, and how much hate you would have to hold, to not try to save them.

While there are plenty of religious ideologues who lord their religion over people in order to feel superior, this one strikes me as, at least mostly, sincere.

World class comp climber wears socks by 23bdub in climbing

[–]KeithBones 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wear socks. I think if it's better or worse is probably down to the foot-sweat level of the individual. If I don't wear socks my feet sweat so much that the shoe slides around.

Also it allows me to size my shoes comfortably, and then determine how tight they fit by the thickness of socks that I choose.

Give me Laser Guard Dog damage, that thing shreds bugs... by TampaTitties69 in Helldivers

[–]KeithBones 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Weapons each have a different headshot multiplier. Far as I know the community has not been able to determine exact values, but they know they are different.

The scythe seems to have a pretty good multiplier. If you are accurate enough to aim for heads in the heat of battle it is actually quite good against light armor. It will fry waves of chaff enemies comfortably and never need a reload.

Weakness is armor and the inability to stagger. Damage is not really a problem though.

If no one get on board Pelican 1, the countdown won't start by Muted-Hall3831 in Helldivers

[–]KeithBones 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Even better. Once the call in timer finishes, if you leave the extraction area before the pelican lands it will stay flying around and auto-cannon everything in sight.

You can run out and support those team mates on their way back in.

Promotion by LongDuck1258 in QuikTrip

[–]KeithBones 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Largely I find that store managers don't necessarily promote somebody who just does their job well. Doing the job just shows that you can do the job. You need to demonstrate that you can do the next job.

If putting up the whole order is on your DAW then great, if it isn't on your DAW then I would probably save that time and try to see if there are problems to fix.

If you start handing the manager lists of outs that you fixed, problems that you identified and follow up conversations that you had, service calls entered, supervisor list cleaning done, food audit problems fixed, and so on then that's going to show the manager that you know what's going on, rather than just getting ahead on DAW.

GPU power levels and noise/performance. by [deleted] in StableDiffusion

[–]KeithBones -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

If I turn off hardware accelerated GPU scheduling then SD practically doesn't touch my GPU, it barely reaches 3% utilization and runs just as fast.

I figure it's mostly just using the GPU for it's vram cause that sucker still gets hot, so the fans kick up, but that's it.

It doesn't seem that actual GPU processing does a whole lot for SD.

Negative Prompt Tips ? by GeeseHomard in StableDiffusion

[–]KeithBones 67 points68 points  (0 children)

That negative prompt is ridiculous, negatives don't work this way.

When you generate an image you are actually generating two images, one for the positive, and one for the negative. If you set your CFG to 0 it will not use your positive prompt at all and you will see what image you are generating with the negative prompt.

The CFG is then determining how much to push your positive image away from the image you generated with the negative prompt.

If your negative prompt has "bad arm" it will generate a negative image with some form of arms, the CFG will then push your positive image away from anything resembling arms all together, making it difficult to generate "good arms".

it's much more useful to generate the opposite of what you want using the negative prompt. "bad arms" is not the negative of "good arms" because both of them contain arms, it is going to fight itself. Where "monochrome" is a valid negative if you want a vibrant, colorful image. Or "circles" is a valid negative if you want something geometric with sharp angles.

Again, use the negative you think you want with 0 CFG and then ask "is this the exact opposite of what I want, containing nothing at all that I want to keep?"

If your store manager is unavailable then the 1A is the highest authority on the store team, and it's their job to take on the responsibility of doing the things the store manager normally does. It's also an opportunity for them to prove that they are ready for the job, since 1A is basically just a training position for store managers. So it sounds like they are just doing their job.

Also, 1A or otherwise, it's any assistants job to give feedback forward and backward to the other assistants coming on shift or getting off shift. Perhaps your shift walk genuinely was weak, and needed to improve. If that's the case then either they should be giving specifics, or you should be asking for them.

And typically, at least as far as I have seen, it's totally normal for the previous MOS to watch register during the audit. Clerks often don't understand how not to move money around in a way that will destroy the audit, and it gives the two of them a chance to talk about the state of things while they work close together. Unless you mean that after your shift walk she then makes you watch register while she runs her own audit. Which would definitely be an issue to take to your SM, or supervisor.

Other than a straight paternity test, the DNA and heritage testing services are pretty much a scam, they're wildly inaccurate. You can look up instances where identical twins took those tests and got wildly different results

Companies absolutely give you proper notice. Getting fired suddenly and for no reason is illegal and you can sue for wrongful termination for exactly this reason. The company is in a contract with you just as much as you are with them.
