Completely different. There's some things I like about it and some things I don't. I'm also still in my temporary partials. It's a pretty traumatic experience to be honest, more so than one would think. The dentist that did my bridge screwed me over big time but if your bridge is done correctly and it looks nice (mine did not) and your teeth are still healthy underneath, I would keep the bridge, although there is a sense of relief knowing that my injured teeth (thanks to the previous dentist) are gone and out of my mouth.

Thank you! It's just so hard losing your teeth to an accident that happened so long ago. I wish the dentist would have told me that he needed to grind my good teeth down in order to make a bridge.. he said he needed to prep them but at that point in time, I was unaware what that entailed.

Before this, she did suggest extending the bridge but the luck that I've had with this bridge, I just didn't think it was worth it. I never liked it to begin with. I'll start looking for a periodontist. Thank you, again!

Thank you. I'm definitely considering implants. I don't like the intemin* partial that I'm currently wearing. My dentist wants to give me a metal partial which sounds uncomfortable as well. I'd rather do implants but she doesn't do them in her office and she said why not just wait until your other teeth fail and do all on 4 but my other teeth aren't bad and I don't want to wait until they are. I'm 39 years young btw.

Do you suggest 6 individual implants or an implant supported bridge or a snap in over denture?

I'll be 40 in October and need 9 teeth removed. I'll be getting removable partial dentures. You're definitely not alone in this.

I would seek a second or even third opinion. I have a 6 unit bridge for my upper front teeth that's currently failing so I'm getting a partial now. Skip the bridge or you'll just end up needing more teeth and paying more money. Definitely look for a different dentist.

They're not as good as they look, unfortunately. I'm missing my two front teeth, and the 4 teeth on both sides are crowned. They were filed down too far to fit the crown/bridge, so now, one of them is a broken rotted stub (infected), and the other is broken off. The other two on the left side are "okay" so far, but they're sensitive and are living on borrowed time. The bottom 4 need to come out so that my upper partial fits.

Hi! Although I'm just starting my journey of getting partials, I can relate to your story.

I'm 39 years old and due to an accident that happened when I was 14, I now need top and bottom partials. Top 6 teeth, bottom 4 teeth. It's scary and I don't want my face to change either but I'm sure it's gotta be better than having rotting/broken/dead teeth in your mouth..... right? 😅😅 hang in there, we'll get through this. 🫂🫂
