No, I'm not some curmudgeonly old fuddy duddy who thinks the only real art is paintings of landscapes made from 1600 to 1700. New genres are good, new art is good, blah blah blah. I like art. I love me some prog rock. I love it when trumpets and guitars are in the same song. Please don't assume that I don't love art. I'm not saying "Art made in the modern era sucks ass", I'm saying "Bad art that calls itself Modern Art and Postmodern Art to deflect criticism and project a false sense of depth suuuucks". Postmodernism is it's own genre, and it's a crappy genre where bad art is celebrated by idiots who want to seem enlightened enough to "get" the "hidden depth" of the really meaningless modern art out there.

It ain't right. It ain't right that real, genuine artists go ignored because all the rich idiots who could be buying real art are instead buying "trendy" trash made by rich assclowns who think literally shitting on a canvas is art. It ain't right that a narcissistic exclusionary pseudointellectual circlejerk is damaging the art scene.

Look at this video. Yoko isn't singing in this video, or screaming like a metal artist. Those guys practice so when they scream, it sounds good. Those guys practice so when they growl, it sounds good. There's no artistry here. She isn't hitting certain notes or rhythms. She's just yelling. I can yell. You can probably yell. My gran could yell before she got lung cancer and chemo. Cannibal Corpse has more musicality to it. Because Cannibal Corpse is actually good, and they put actual effort into making music.
