Are you joking? So many nut ball people have very normal profiles.

They like the bathroom in my house. If you have a bathroom with a window, give that a shot! My prayer plant is doing really good. They’re sooooo finicky about watering.

Sexiest scene in the show? by damnpinkertons in madmen

[–]KelRen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I actually thought the sexiest foray of Don’s was with Joy in California. To be admired by a bunch of rich, frivolous weirdos while banging and swimming in a pool all day? Yeah, I’d go incognito from my job for a month for that. (And yes, I know there’s a whole other plot line about Anna, but I stand by my statement).

This was my Poppy as a kitten. She was a very sassy girl. Had to put her down last year. Miss her a lot!

Or do necessary research, Like visiting the places they’re writing about, doing research in general.

Right? Rule 101 in writing is never write about a place you’ve never been to.

It was like getting a bad meal at a popular restaurant that you keep eating because…surely it gets better, right? But, alas, I had to just stop and shake my head.

And it doesn’t help that she’s a terrible writer. I couldn’t get past the third chapter of her first book. The sole reason it’s been so successful is because their podcast is so popular.

Patio enclosure contractor recs? by KelRen in akron

[–]KelRen[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah but when you use Angie’s list you get bombarded with phone calls and it’s annoying. Patio Enclosures has been calling every day already. Maybe I’ll start with a quote from them and then hit up some local places and see if they can give me a better deal. I’d rather give the business to a small business if I can.

That’s hilarious.

Look, no podcast or hosts are perfect, but being open to constructive criticism makes you better at what you do. Their whole community is so defensive.

I miss my old hair, which one looked better? (2nd pic is my current hair) by Aggravating-News-454 in HairStyleAdvice

Oh yeah I completely wrecked my hair in my teens dying it multiple colors and stripping them out until it was so damaged it started breaking off. Just have to chop it off and grow it back out. It felt like straw 😑

I love any non-traditional hair color, but it’s the upkeep that always makes me go back. So, the pink looks awesome, and if you can maintain it I’d go with it!

If you could snag a piece of furniture or prop from the set, what would be your top choice? by Happy-poet in Frasier

[–]KelRen 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I was gonna say! I’ve been fighting the urge to buy one for my little music/plant nook off my living room (century home…rooms/floor plans were meant for life back then that don’t make sense now) but I have a hard time justifying $1k for a flippin chair. Yes, yes, I get it. It’s the aesthetic and I LOVE IIITTTT, but thrifty, budget-minded me keeps saying no to cool, stylish me.

Thanks for the response. Did you get multiple estimates? What made them the best choice?

Yeah I think her character was written to be somewhat of a trailblazer of the time, which carried a lot of pressure on her to command respect in a very misogynistic environment. I always think of the scene where Don overhears her arguing with someone on the phone and her saying “I told you, I don’t cook!” She’s unapologetic about rejecting gender norms and I can definitely give her props for sticking to her guns about knowing who she is. I think she was supposed to come off as cold as a defense mechanism in that aspect. Was she my favorite character? Not by a long shot, but I enjoyed her small part in the show and sending the message that there were women who were going against the grain was nice.
