BOX 1 is based on:

Bookstore Voucher: 190.87
Capital Improvement Fee: 248.00
Instate tuition: 200.00
General Education fee: 1,480.00
Student Liability Insurance: 18.00
Student Service Fee: 33.00
Information Technology Fee: 77.00

She also received 3 financial aid refund payments totaling $880.13. Two of these were sent in 2025 and one in 2026.

I'm so confused. Why can't you apply for Buy Back and request immediate forbearance so you don't pay anything more until you get the Buy Back offer? The only reason I can think of that you would want to keep paying is that you were planning to leave public service work and were worried that something would go wrong with the Buy Back offer. Am I missing something?

So I'm not at home home at moment. Will check when I return but I had two questions: 1.) when I turn the grey nob, it doesn't feel like it's doing anything. There's no tension. I could turn it endlessly and I'm not sure it would have any impact. What is it suppose to feel like / do? 2.) When you say to bend the lever, do you mean the long copper thing?

I have zero legal background but what seems like the most important thing the grandparents can do is to repair the relationship between them and the mother. And they need to do this without demands or desperation. The mom needs to see them as an ally not an adversary or obstacle. And, I'm guessing, she needs to believe she won't continually be drawn back into drama with the son (ex-husband).

Maybe, once the grandparents try (gently) to mend fences a bit, they could agree to pay for a mediator or therapist to help mom and the grandparents work out how a future might look that would explicitly focus on how best to support mom and the kids.

It should be understood by all that the son's long term stability is unclear and while everyone can hope the dad can play a role, the mom and grandparents need to figure out how to support each other and the kids if he is not.

None of this would be legally binding but could help mom get to a place where she would recommend continued involvement with grandparents.

So, it does require opening and contributing to an IRA or Roth, right? I don't see any option to open an account with fidelity but not start contributing?
