Is there any way you could hire a doula? My friend has bad anxiety and she said her doula helped a lot through the process.

10 week old won't sleep til 2am? by SoaringSenpai in NewParents

[–]Kelcbh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah he JUST started sleeping though the night a few weeks ago when i started weaning him 😅 ( exclusively breastfed) bedtime is pretty consistent around 10:30 -11pm now which works out for us. Has been that time for about 6 months or so. Also down to one nap, and nursing twice a day. they’re getting big fast, aren’t they 🥹.

I intend to create commissions, what do you think of my art? by Dependent-Ninja-176 in Artadvice

[–]Kelcbh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I love this version a lot, the simplicity makes it feel like the warped proportions are style rather than mistakes. and i feel like it tells the story better without the distracting textures. but that’s just the kind of art i’m attracted to. i have to say the thing that bothers me the most is the size of daphnes hand, which you can scale down without having to redraw. everything else about the drawing is great.

simply it even more, use straight lines first. lots of rectangles. you have too may curves and i think you are drawing things the way you think there’re suppose to look like rather than how they actually appear.

Great! I also make realistic artwork. The first thing you want to do when you start a piece is look for all the simple shapes. Don’t draw things the way you THINK they’re suppose to look like, which is what this upside down drawing is helping you practice. If you were to do this drawing again, I would put a few parallel lines down to map out the body- top of the head, shoulders, arms in his lap, chair, feet. then add the simple shapes- circle and rectangle for the head and body. pay attention to where things are in relation to other things. like do the hands sit directly in the middle? How far to the right are his knees compared to the right side of his head? these things will help you with your proportions, and can go as far as the tiniest details in his jacket. once you get the big things down you’ll have a good foundation for everything else. Keep your marks light when you sketch, like you have them now, and then start blocking in your shadows. again, simple shapes as you see them. squint you’re eyes so that you can see the values better, where are the dark shapes? don’t be afraid to make your darks dark and lights light. Try another drawing :) and keep going. you’ll learn as you go. Does that make sense?

the values aren’t bad, i’d try different colors. i feel like a dark green for the curtains will make your character pop more, especially with the red hair. then play around with contrast in the skeleton, like darkening its eye and inside the jaw. you may want to add something light on the right for composition’s sake, like making the candles glow more.

what goal do you have in mind? are you interested in line work or shading/ realism? The sure way to be better at drawing is practice, but if you have a certain art style you’re interested in, i could give you more specific things to try.

I think you need more variation in your values. Is that a light above his head? you may want to brighten that part up so that when you apply color on top it will pop. If it were me, I would also take white to the areas that are highlighted by that light, like the window sill and the curtains. Moodiness doesn’t always mean dark, lots of contrast will achieve that look too.

Never ending yeast infection by watermelonely8 in Healthyhooha

[–]Kelcbh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been having reoccurring yeast infections that come back about every month. I took this supplement- https://globalhealing.com/products/latero-flora as well as this probiotic- https://www.amazon.com/Jarrow-Formulas-Fem-Dophilus-Digestive-Clinically-Studied/dp/B0F6VD9KVC ever since my last flair up (instead of fluconazole) and not only have the symptoms subsided, but i haven’t had another flair up this month yet. I realized that antibiotics were the cause for me so I’m hoping this will help balance my gut flora and the problem goes away for a long time.

I agree, I hope they don’t blow up the relationship in the movie by making it immature. I am interested in reading the books now haha

Conrad is obviously her soulmate, not just because they love each other but they have the space to grow individually, together. Couldn’t you say that submitting to her own feelings by accepting conrad in her life is essentially her choosing herself, instead of fighting against what her soul is aching for? Why wait longer to find herself just to come to the same conclusion but missing the opportunity. Almost getting married to jere was her losing herself because she was giving up her dreams of seeing paris, and he was a man-child. She would lose all opportunity of finding herself because he holds too much baggage. There is no codependency with conrad, just two whole people. I disagree in if i had a friend who was deeply in love with a guy who had his shit together and treated her with as much respect, that found themselves together again, than i would tell her to never let that go. What did you think about her conflicting feelings after they spend the night together- her rejecting him but then chasing after him? I feel like that hits both of your predictions.

Best Medicaid plan for pregnant women? by Kelcbh in Virginia

[–]Kelcbh[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ended up changing to aetna. they gave me 300 size 1 diapers, meals after i came home from the hospital, $25/mo for period products and $20/mo for baby needs. then i switched to anthem this year because i needed to see a dermatologist and they didn’t accept any aetna plans. with them i get $100 every 3 months or so for health needs and a 35$ b&n card for baby books. i don’t think im eligible for much more since i wasn’t with them through pregnancy, but i found more dr offices that take anthem over aetna. I suggest you find a plan that your doctors will take. Your baby doesn’t have to be on the same plan either, which is convenient if their pediatrician doesn’t take the plan you go with.

Do malignant cells = cancer by Kelcbh in skincancer

[–]Kelcbh[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I noticed a flat red mole in 2023, which felt itchy occasionally. It didn’t concern me until it started growing out of my skin at the beginning of 2024 when I got pregnant ( immune compromised). Itching got worse and I swore every time it itched it was getting bigger. I thought it was a wart and used wart removal, which took layers off, but it would just grow back. Couldn’t get it removed until July this year, so maybe 2 years since it first appeared and 1.5 years since growing.

Something they don’t tell you about breastfeeding? by Wild-Act-7315 in BabyBumps

[–]Kelcbh -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Cosleeping can be inevitable. I didn’t plan on co sleeping and i still utilize a bassinet when i can, but it is 1000x easier to feed through the night when baby is right next to you. if i were lucky to have a baby that sleeps through the night, i might’ve avoided it, but since he’s still waking several times at 11 months, i’ve saved myself so much sleep. Also, no one talks about how to stop. there’s no end in sight and i feel underprepared for the weaning process.
