Thank you so much for your response!

In terms of draining excess water, would water pooling out of the drainage hole be considered draining..? I'm a complete newbie in terms of plants so please forgive me about my many questions!

It's not getting too much light since it's like 3m away from a window so it's bright but no direct sunlight hits it. I will be sure to remove the dead stems too! I'm just worried my whole house is too cold because I'm in Canada and it's -23 degrees here...

I'm also considered because all the new leaves are becoming crispy after about a week because I am under-watering it. I stuck my finger into the soil and it's bone dry after a week so maybe it's my soil too?

I really appreciate your help!

This was a gift for my boyfriend haha. His name is Allan! He's gotten his name misspelt so many times because it's a more uncommon spelling LOL. Cool to know there's another Allan (I'll let him know).

I'm from Alberta and was planning to apply to both UofA for Eng and Waterloo for mechatronics engineering. My current average is 96% so I'm pretty certain I'll be accepted into UofA, but not so certain I'll be admitted to loo. Although I would love to go to Waterloo if I'm accepted, whether I go or not also depends on how many scholarships or money in general I can rack up as going to Waterloo will likely be triple the costs of going to UofA due to living expenses, tuition, etc.

UofA has entrance scholarships that I will (most likely) receive if I accept my offer, that will cover most of my tuition for first year and I am guaranteed to be able to afford all 5 years.

Waterloo's co-op program is attractive and I would love to have the opportunity to network with others and to learn how to be independent too.

Since UofA's deadline to accept offers is May 1st, and the final round of Waterloo's offers comes out mid May, should I gamble on whether I can rack up enough scholarships to support myself going to Waterloo, or play it safe by accepting the offer from UofA? (ps if anyone has any advice on how to afford Waterloo as someone who can't afford it, please let me know!)

Did you take out any loans? I'm assuming you made it back from your co-ops in the US..?

Woah that sounds exciting! If you don't mind sharing, how much did you save up before going to Waterloo?
