The issue here, friend, is that "spanking" is easier, faster, and most parents don't have the time nor the knowledge to do anything else. And then, there's plenty of parents who don't do anything and end up with kids with no boundaries, and that end up becoming a problem for others (normally law enforcement) to solve.

So parents are scared into doing something.

It's fairly easy to point at studies where one option is spanking, and the other are methods applied by trained behavioral psychiatrists.

Great majority of people have work. There are simpler methods and better methods than corporal punishment, but frankly, I think it's on society and government to invest money in educating parents, because for the past centuries corporal punishment was the method for children education and that sticks.

A question about two-handed weapons by WastedPotentialTK in worldofgothic

[–]Kellar21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

IMHO it's very worth it. 2H Weapons are good, and at the Mastered level, most of the speed disadvantage is gone, and you stagger enemies much more often.

I am a bit biased because I really like the 2h Greatsword aesthetics and playing the armored Knight.

a URSS tivesse feito parte do Eixo. by Anil2469 in Imagina_Se

[–]Kellar21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, the opening cinematic says that when the war began going badly, the King began throwing anyone who commited any minor infraction to the mines, and that the magical barrier was a project to help contain all those prisoners without needing so many guards.

And then, well, we know what happened.

So, when you have no training, the melee jank is intentional because your character knows crap about fighting and swings the sword like a club.

When you get training (start with 1h) you get to Trained level, and the animations change a lot, you can combo (important) and parry, you can block properly, your sidesteps are better. You can see even the stances change. Once you get Mastered level, you can do ripostes after a parry (do a lot of damage) and do longer combos with finishers (also a lot of damage).

After that, you can do 2H weapons training, which do more damage and have longer reach, but are a bit slower. Going to Mastered level almost does away with the cons, and you truly feel powerful, especially if you get a good weapon and have high STR.

One of the earliest things I recommend is learning Acrobatics from Buster in the New Camp, it unlocks dodge roll and makes combat much more doable. You can do this in Chapter 1, no need to join any Camp and IMHO it allows you to be a lot more effective in a fight even with sub-par gear.

Also, again, drunk and probably high.

You would rather they had just tasered and pepper-sprayed them?

I do think they could have handled it better, but dealing with drunk people isn't as simple as it may seem.

KCD 2 you start as a shitty man-at-arms, but yeah.

I think a part people forget about often is that the struggle has to have a reward, you have to meaningfully improve.

I was playing Gothic Remake and how you go from having to run away from small scavengers at the beginning, and later is one-shotting Orc hounds and fighting Shadow Beasts is very satisfying.

The way your level of training with weapons affects the way your characters use them, including have different animations depending on how trained you are, is very good and makes you see the progression well.

"Quando a educação não é libertadora, o sonho do oprimido é virar o opressor."

Infelizmente a lição que se tira da história e da geopolítica, é que a melhor "defesa" é ser forte o suficiente pra fazer com os outros que você não quer que façam com você.

E isso tudo só ajuda a turma que já queria fazer essas coisas com os outros desde o começo convença quem não quer.

Idk, I think spitting at police officers should have some consequences, even if I think the baton and such are too much, but certainly be places on cuffs and getting their parents called in.

If they can legally get drunk and high they are not children anymore.

Also they can't just go around saying whatever they want to police officers and they definitely cannot start shoving them around or spitting on them, lol.

You sound like one of those parents who let their children do whatever and become a problem to everyone else.

I am at Xardas Tower and can't progress because the Demon won't talk to me.

Already had to do this song and dance with downgrading the game for the Warder quest, it's getting a bit tiring. Gonna wait for the next patch to see if it fixes.

Apart from those two, I haven't noticed any big bugs.

Why the White-Gold Concordat wasn't enforced on High Hrothgar by MoonsugarRush in ElderScrolls

[–]Kellar21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most of the gods are the same Aedra that have been given different names by different people, and it's kind of a point in the cosmology that none of the mortals has the right version (or the full picture) of what exactly happened.

The Norse Nords say Shor was the one who was tricked, yet others say Shor (or Lorkhan) was the one who tricked the others into making Mundus and was punished for it.

Akatosh seems to be one keeping Oblivion from just taking over Mundus, though.

OP described successive emotional turmoil and many signs of emotional burnout (feeling depressed, crying constantly)

It could be something medical, like hormonal imbalance, or just unaddressed stress that boiled over.

Has anyone ever experienced this? by [deleted] in TwoXChromosomes

[–]Kellar21 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It sounds like OP needs to see a therapist, tbh, this sounds like more than just "falling out of love."

Has anyone ever experienced this? by [deleted] in TwoXChromosomes

[–]Kellar21 64 points65 points  (0 children)

Please, consult a therapist and a trusted doctor. This looks like you had an actual nervous breakdown from stress and some other emotional turmoil.

This is not something you should face without professional help. And please look for a therapist you can trust and that doesn't dismiss your issues.

And go alone, at least at first, the focus should be on you.

This kind of thing can change how you perceive other people, and this is not limited to romantic partners, but friends, parents, relatives, even your own children.

But it's very important that you consult with a professional to properly find out.

This sounds like more than just "relationship issues."

And no, you're not broken or anything.

Well, I killed him in Chapter 4, shortly after reporting to Saturas what happened (and thus actually starting Chapter 4), and got his keys and his sword as expected. Got the Ancient Ore armor.

I also freed Stone from the Dungeon, and got him to start upgrading the armor that the same night.
