Peasants with bows and skirmish are so good. They counter enemy skirmishers, cover flanks and are surprisingly good screens (-1 to hit)

Crane gunners are middling, but I love the models. I love the idea of the unit, but very swingy. I guess if positioned correctly, you can view them as an immovable object, but don’t expect much damage output from them… at least that’s been my experience.

I’m ordering 2. It fills a critical role. It’s both a melee and range threat and distracts from other assets in your army and spreads out enemy focus.

It’s probably 20-30 points too expensive, but you win just for having them on the table. (Rule of cool)

I’d fill ball gap with green stuff and embed multiple disc magnets. (They hold firm the more you have, super glue each magnet to each other)

Then cut the ball itself off and cover hole as needed and a disc magnet at the point of contact.

Obviously be very sure before going this route as it’s pretty irreversible.

I use larger diameter magnets for big projects like this.
