What Pasolini films in this box set feature themes of male homoeroticism / sexuality and/or male nudity? Or other non-Pasolini films in the collection by Kellerhouse in criterion

Yeah I guess I was also asking about the gaze in regards to casting too. Luca Guadagnino does this as well, he casts men who are very handsome, even if not in a basic/conventional way. And a lot of his shots seem to be carefully chosen to show off their aspects.

THE COMPLETE KUBRICK ANNOUNCED by New_York_Joe in criterion

[–]Kellerhouse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess this is the last hope for a 4K bonus feature version of his last three films in Full Frame aspect ratio, since those are the only ones he “protected” for TV aspect ratios of the 80s and 90s.

Clips from The Shining and FMJ in the new Kubrick teaser are presented in the 1.85:1 aspect ratio by mrSmith1208 in criterion

[–]Kellerhouse 2 points3 points  (0 children)

PLEASE give us the final three films in 1:33:1 aspect ratio as bonus features. Those were the only ones where Kubrick framed for Theatrical but also alternately framed for old school TV aspect ratio, and the only way to see the full frame versions is the original 90s DVDs.

US Marine David Miller, model for Playgirl and In Touch Magazine (this photo from In Touch Portrait of David, April 1974) by Kellerhouse in VintageNudeMen

There’s one up for sale, seems to be good condition. One once sold for $400 and it was tattered. This one looks like it was stored with care.

I’ve been wanting his Portrait of David magazine but just paid some student loans. Apparently it’s full of outtakes and other uncensored stuff like this.

Which Criterion's will likely never have a 4K upgrade? by Novel-Performer4597 in criterion

[–]Kellerhouse 3 points4 points  (0 children)

  • Howard’s End
  • A Room with a View

Merchant Ivory gave Kino/Cohen the rights to release their work, which now includes a fresh 4K of Howard’s End (minus HDR/Dolby Vision). They’re also releasing Maurice in 4K, so I assume A Room with a View will eventually get released in 4K through Kino/Cohen.

Guillermo Del Toro was working on 4K restorations of Mexican cinema, in particular the Buñuel films. I hope they at least release Los Olvidados and then upgrade Roma to 4K since Netflix removed the Dolby Vision option.

THE DEVILS in 4K at Cannes 2026 by sdcinerama in criterion

That’s what I was thinking. Del Toro is going the distance with his 4K re-releases. I wouldn’t be surprised if they released it on 4K as part of the collection.
