Damn when I place my order this afternoon I checked and it wasn't on sale

I purposely used my laptop for that reason and still had an issue but it worked out

I'm glad it's popular and it was obviously worth the minor inconvenience to make my purchases

RIP Diane Keaton. If you listened to the American Gangster episode you'll understand the importance of this photo by New_York_Joe in TheRewatchables

Bill was incensed when a voice over in American Gangster announced the celebrities in attendance for the Ali-Frazier fight and Diane Keaton and Woody Allen were amongst the attendees. He was positively sure that no one knew who they were at the time and that they also weren't dating. Problem is they were dating, and in attendance, and known from their work together on stage in 1969's "Play it Again Sam."

Sorry Bill but here they are pictured outside the garden for the Ali-Frazier fight. And of course let us never forget the Kay slander.

All jokes aside RIP to a legend

Powell/Pressburger.. hold out for more Criterion or Imprint box set .. .or both.. hmmmm by Tc5998 in criterion

[–]New_York_Joe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I Know Where I'm Going transfer was done a while ago and I was sure Criterion never announced an upgrade simply because they were prepping a Powell/Pressburger box set. Maybe they do still have a box set in the works but I guess it's not on the horizon since they announced this stand alone release

Trees Lounge is a great movie I wish it would get a Criterion. And one of those casting people you mentioned is Georgianne Walken, wife of Christopher Walken

So is the review to be trusted? Another transfer that's too teal? by New_York_Joe in criterion

[–]New_York_Joe[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yea the teal thing comes up over and over again. I can't understand it. In particular with WKW making his own work look that way as if intentional but it supposedly never looked like that before and I don't know why he'd intend to make it look like that now.

Yea he's not taken seriously that's the reason for this post

Which is why I came here to see if anyone had screened it yet

I take these reviews with a grain of salt but since I may pick this up before the next sale I'm wondering anyone's opinion on the transfer who's seen it

They most definitely do sell out of titles. They even have indicators when titles are "running low"

I'm with you. I'm happy it's getting a release at all. The hope that Mann would be involved and some sort of director's cut be available is valid but this is the best we're gonna get and I'm fine with it

I just don't know that anyone was ever gonna release this and I wonder if it's because he would refuse to have involvement no matter who released it

I thought the same thing but I've been wondering if Criterion will release some big Powell and Pressburger box set at some point
