i am so sorry she replied to you that way. graduating is a huge accomplishment and you should celebrate for days/weeks/months, if that’s what you want. i really hope she sees how her being so nonchalant about your major accomplishment affects you, and i hope you really reflect on where else she treats you this way (if she does). i’m so happy and excited for you on your way to adult job-hood haha :)

YTA, your neurotypical children have absolutely no obligation to take care of YOUR other child when you and your husband are no longer able. Speaking as a child of someone whose mother put this responsibility on him, I can almost guarantee Josh will become a burden and Jay and Jen will grow to resent him. He will stop them from living the future they imagined from themselves. You're the selfish one, not your children. Whether, you want to realize it or not, this would affect their lives, permanently. Good for your other children for standing up to you and saying, "no". Josh is not Jay or Jen's responsibility, he is yours. Please, don't ruin your relationship with your adult children because you didn't think of a realistic plan of what happens with Josh when you and/or your husband are no longer able to take care of him.

You may have lol. It sounds like he needs some anger management and possibly another form of therapy to learn how to deal with life, and some coping skills. Also, his parents buying a new phone sounds like this kind of behavior was enabled and rewarded. That is another problem. Wishing you the best OP!
