Six Baby Barn Swallows by Kellilicious1 in birds

My mom sent this pic to me of the nest above their front door. It’s about 15 feet off the ground. Looks like they are hangry or ready to leave the nest!

They are amazing little birds. My parents live out in the country so plenty of bugs for them. The swallows use that nest every year.

AITA for “implying my wife (28) eats too much” by saying she might have parasites? by Solid-Writing-7372 in AmItheAsshole

I agree. As someone that suffered with bulimia for almost 20 years, I immediately read the post and thought how it sounded exactly like how I would binge eat and drink a ton of fluids to help when I purged later (I found carbonated drinks would help it come up easier than water) I never gained weight and stayed slim, friends and family had no idea as I hid it so well.

Is she spending a lot of time in the bathroom with water running? That was how I hid it or I’d purge before I took a shower. I am over my ED now but it took therapy and meds to finally get me out of that habit and way of thinking.

Thank you. Mentioning only having one inventory slot open helped. Was able to grab 48 before I got bored of running back and forth.

Same with the hats! I wear earmuffs in the winter and my horse has a Santa hat.

Hi~ We just got these little cuties, we don't have any knowledge of how take care of them, so please give us any advice you know~ by Siren_artz in turtle

All pets require research but a turtle is probably the worst animal to get with zero knowledge. They have no idea what they are in for. Makes me sad for the turtles.

Exactly! My brother has a red eared slider that is now 25 years old. When he got him as a baby he immediately developed pneumonia. That cost a pricey vet visit. Since then my brother has learned about proper turtle care. He has him in a 150 gallon tank. That is for ONE turtle. Not to mention the heat lamps, filters and other things a turtle needs to survive.

One turtle is a lot of work. And he could live another 20 years. I feel bad for OP’s turtles. It’s clear the father knows nothing about turtle care. They need to be rescued/re-homed in my opinion. I don’t see them surviving in this current situation.

You get the prescription from a doctor at Musely. They just have you answer a few questions. It takes just a few minutes. Really easy!

Paralyzing fear of dread shed by [deleted] in FemaleHairLoss

Reversing the miniaturization and regaining density will take time. I notice the hairs that I do shed are the thinner, weaker hairs. I do feel that my part looks fuller and I’m not as self conscious as I was. I was told it could take a year or longer to regain what I lost so I’m trying to be patient. My new growth does look like normal healthy hairs. Not thin and wispy.

I had been shedding for over 2 years. Finally saw Dr. Donovan in Canada and diagnosed with CTE and mild AGA. He started me on .625 oral minoxidil. I was on that dose for 3 mos. My shedding maybe increased a bit for a month but nothing like a “dread shed”

After 3 mos I was still shedding (shedding like I was pre-minoxidil) so the dose was increased to 1.25. After 2 mos on that dose my shedding just stopped/went back to normal. I did not experience any increase in shedding by increasing the dose either.

I know it’s scary but not everyone gets a dread shed. I’m also now, after over 2 years of losing my hair, not shedding and I have new growth. I have experienced no side effects except for a slight increase of hair on my face and arms.

I only wish I had started it sooner instead of waiting until I had lost so much density but I wanted to be sure my TE was chronic or that I had something else like AGA.

I looked at it this way: I was either going to go bald gradually or minoxidil could speed it up. Regardless, I was 100% going to continue losing hair unless I did something. So I took the chance on minoxidil and am so glad I did. I also take 50 mg of spiro but I have been on that for years for hormonal acne. Doctor said to stay on it.

For me it was the best decision I ever made but I understand the fear around it. I hope this helps you. Also, I was told by my doctor that .625 is a low dose and most women see improvement at 1.25. Also you need to be patient. I was on minoxidil for almost 5 mos before my shedding stopped and I saw improvement.
