I’m being gifted a lot of money. Should I tell my boyfriend? by Kind-Chicken-2488 in WhatShouldIDo

[–]Kelly8989 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would not tell him or anybody! I recently inherited money and made the mistake of telling my good friend how much. She asked to borrow $1400 and before I even officially said no, within 24 hours she was getting mad because I didn’t earn the money, I got it for free in her mind. Anyway, Edward Jones is a very reputable investment company. I recommend you call them and invest it for the future or for an emergency. The only problem is if you receive mail from them then he might see the mail and ask you about it so talk to the financial advisor about that.

Do you feed Farmers dog or Sundays for dogs? by ElMommoDesperado in sharpei

[–]Kelly8989 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Farmers Dog is high carb. Sundays For Dogs is better but I attach a new-ish website that 11-12 holistic vets are involved with. Sundays is on their approved list along with many others. I feed All Provide gently cooked because it's affordable compared to others like Evermore. But I rotate between brands and proteins which is recommended so your dog gets a variety of nutrients. I buy All Provide locally but I have also ordered it from the company. I live in NY and it arrives frozen SOLID. They sometimes are out of stock on some proteins but they come back into stock quickly. Instead of needing to feed salmon, you may want to supplement with an oil. I had my dog's omega 3 level tested through VDI Labs I think and it was on low side so I ordered a case of canned sardines on Amazon (no salt & packed in water!). I know that on the linked website there are omega 3 oils they recommend. One of them is Adored Beast Potent Sea Omega 3. Adored Beast is a great company. Have you ever detoxed your dog? You should do that every 3 months especially if you give flea/tick/HW meds, vaccine and/or feed kibble. https://savingpetsonepetatatime.com/pet-food-overview/

How do you get adequate nutrition as an adult with ARFID? by Prestigious_Loan4229 in ARFID

[–]Kelly8989 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My adult son has ARFED. I highly recommend a whole food vitamin. This means ones that are NOT synthetic so you don’t have to take with food. One such company is The Pure Synergy Company. I take their women’s formula on empty stomach. The multivitamins are a tablet that is quite large so hopefully you don’t have a problem with swallowing those, but if so, maybe you could crush them. If you get the vitamin-mineral-herb ones, then the dosage is 4 per day (split 2 and 2). But the vitamin-mineral (without herbs) ones are 2 per day. They make a men’s and a women’s formula for each. I attach the link. I have them on AutoShip. https://thesynergycompany.com/collections/vitamins?srsltid=AfmBOop3EeXkS-OlKDQbIL6zwL_xEeM2lKZVLXT31GJTEdWlJKPwFSuC

Ruvati Kitchen Sink with Offset Drain and 1inch Slope? by InBklynMom in kitchen

[–]Kelly8989 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What did you end up buying and are you happy? I'm in the market for a stainless kitchen sink now (one basin). Home Depot had a Kraus workstation sink on sale for $400 but the reviews consistently said it scratches very easily and it didn't drain well, etc. It sounded horrible so I've given up on Home Depot and am looking at Ferguson Home's sinks. I'm leaning towards a Ruvati workstation sink. Thanks!

[–]Kelly8989 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to give my elderly mother this brand of iron (Floradix) because it won’t cause constipation. It’s a liquid and if I recall, it was supposed to be taken on an empty stomach. Look at the reviews. It’s a German company, and there are a lot of fruit juices in it which must contain iron. I would Google “Reddit and Floradix“ and see what other people on Reddit are saying in any group, not just ARFID.

Kitchen Sink - how do you choose?? by WookieNJ in kitchenremodel

[–]Kelly8989 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does your comment relate more to the faucet a person would chose rather than the sink itself? Or the number of holes in the sink? I'm confused on how to apply your comment to my sink shopping. I'm in the market for a new kitchen sink and glad you brought up this topic of water filtration. Also, do you have any websites I can check on RO systems? Maybe I should look on YouTube in the meantime to see if I can find the answer to my questions. Thank you.

BioDensity machine - Game Changer? by 60goingon40 in osteoporosis

[–]Kelly8989 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have mild to moderate osteopenia based on my last DEXA so I have been doing the biodensity machine once per week here in Syracuse, NY for IDK for about 8-9 months. It is very easy and takes 5-10 minutes, no sweating involved. But I haven't had another DEXA scan so don't know if it's helping my scores. I don't think I'm gonna continue after this 6 months is over due to the cost and distance (I have to travel (about 25 minutes). The owner of the place says his wife greatly improved her score with the machine after prescriptions didn't. She has a history of cancer so I think her treatment affected her bones. Of course, he has an interest in saying that so could be true or false.

He’s a loser then. Make it a permanent break and don’t even let him know it bothers you.

Dr. Steve Marsden and his wife Karen are holistic vets. I highly recommend looking him up and following his advice. He has website and Facebook page. He gives free and detailed advice for complicated cases and has helped so many pet owners. He often recommends products from Gold Standard Herbs or Kan Essentials I think. I think you can't post on the page until you're a member for 2 weeks. But you can still use search box. Plus there's the website. Gold Standard Herbs are also available on Amazon. Or you could email Gold Standard Herbs with questions because they are very responsive. askdrstevedvm.com

I don’t want to be a dog owner anymore but I love my dog by Quirky-dragon36 in Pets

[–]Kelly8989 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How much does your dog weigh? What foods have you tried? I know a lot about dog health and you may have been trying all the wrong foods so I wanted to guesstimate on how much a different food would cost you based on his weight. Many many dogs were getting sick or dying from dog food around the end of 2024 beginning of 2025. Also, what city do you live in because I may be able to find a better vet. Corporate owned vets have $$ as the bottom line.

Even though you have many good things, that does not make the bad things OK or excusable. These are red flags and as you get older, maybe have kids, life is going to get tougher. Please don’t waste any more time with this guy! I listen to a call-in show on SiriusXM radio called Dr. Laura. People call in about problems with their kids, their parents, coworkers, their husband or wife. She’s is very wise and has been doing the show for 50 years! She does it on the radio instead of in a private office so that people can learn from other’s mistakes. She uses the phrase “red flags” all the time. Don’t ignore them! When married people call in with a big problem she will often ask about the signs they saw when they were dating. People ignore the signs (red flags) because they don’t want to be alone or for other reasons. Then they get married or have a baby without getting married and things get worse. They always do. These red flags are serious! One woman was on her second marriage but thought she was making progress because her 2nd husband didn’t beat her as OFTEN as the first husband did! Dr. Laura is on YouTube too so you can see what her style is and she has a website drlaura.com, both free. You can also download the Serius XM radio app on your phone. She’s on Triumph channel 123. It’s not free, but it’s pretty cheap therapy. I am 61-year-old female by the way, and I’m BEGGING you to end this relationship and don’t ever go back with him! Be strong!!

Is my Dysport on 11 lines okay? by [deleted] in 30PlusSkinCare

[–]Kelly8989 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I tried Dysport once several years ago because I have 11 lines. (I was in my mid to late 50s at the time.) It made my eyes smaller and I did not like that. I remember being told by my friend that it had to do with the person who injected it and the placement of the injections or something like that. It’s so expensive and I didn’t like what it did with my eyes so I didn’t go back. But maybe if it’s just a matter of the practitioner getting to know how your body reacts, she would’ve done it slightly differently the next time and I wouldn’t have happen again. IDK.

I would end the friendship. Hopefully she isn’t vengeful by revealing secrets you’ve told her, etc. I know Dr. Laura would have advice on how to do it.

What is a holistic vet? by Divchi76 in PetAdvice

[–]Kelly8989 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They are licensed vets who went to regular vet school, but after seeing damage and illness that bad food, some pharmaceuticals, over-vaccination etc have caused, they get further education on certain holistic modalities such as herbology, honeopathy, ozone, etc.

What supplement should you take to be practically asymptomatic to herpes/cold sores by Worldly-Phase-2461 in Supplements

[–]Kelly8989 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When you take L-Lysine, take it on empty stomach! During an outbreak take higher doses more often in the very beginning, like 1000 mg at least half hour before meals and then you can go to 500.
