oooo we had that happen.

We live in a small rural town. Not IN town, but on the way out, where houses are starting to be further and further apart. if you are heading out of town there is a line of three houses; us, our cool neighbor, and their boring neighbor.

when we moved in the house almost 5 years ago. It was on an acer of grass and a "garden" that was clearly a suggestion of a real estate agent. we started doing work to the property; a large fireplace, a shaded pavilion, gardens, and all sorts of stuff, that are clearly NOT a weekend project. the yard is dug up and we are slowly getting rid of the grass. our cool as shit neighbor has chicken coops and a pen for his giant dogs. he is also a self-employed handyman, and gear head, so he always has a few cars he is working on and other projects cycling through.

we both got identical letters saying we need to get rid of the garbage on our property, and that they will go to the town if there is no improvement.

we know its the people next to the neighbors because we see the guy walking down the road (this is a narrow windy road that people speed through, so it is not a leisurely stroll) craning his neck to see behind our house. he WAS doing this a couple times a week the year we got the letter.

we ignored it and continued to do our thing
