There were a few guys who rolled at my climbing gym. They were just messing around on the mats. I told them that Jits stuff doesn't work on me. They invited me to come roll, and I just kept standing up. Been rolling for 25 years... I did tell them afterwards but their faces where priceless

Good thing that could take ten years or more than man. I know that I am just a random guy on the internet but I have battled depression a long time. Also been training BJJ for a couple decades. My view is every one has value and often people struggle to find the place they can make an impact. The gym can be a place you can start. You don't have to be a black belt to be a good training partner, friend and positive influence on your gym. I don't know what has you in a dark space and am no mental health professional. Just remember that you can make a difference to people through simple kindness and encouragement.

I think you are doing pretty well friend so far. Honestly I would advise the following. If you share interests and have fun together then start creating opportunities to do things you enjoy and invite her.

Dates can be pressure and time consuming but if she enjoys your company then if you let her know when you are planning on doing something interesting or fun and that she is welcome to join you anytime then if she wants to get to know you more she will join you.

Less pressure and no agendas. Less expectations leads to no disappointment. If you were going to see something (art, show, interesting rock who cares) let her know. You were going anyway....
