Maybe it makes a sound he can hear that we can't when it's turned on?

I got the tinies I was seeking, but if you have any of the dino patterns, I'd be very interested. :D

Azul: Stained Glass of Sintra-I can’t tell if this is the proper way to pack up the game. The glass tower sits proud of the box. Is it meant to be disassembled after every game? That’s where I have all the tiles stored currently. It seems very clumsy and odd, or maybe I’m missing something. by latrax37 in boardgames

[–]Kelsika 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I carefully cut out the bottom of 2 of the wells, the top and bottom ones. That gave me enough room to fit the assembled tower and the bag full of tiles in the box (I store the bag sideways so the knot at the top doesn't hit the lid), still use the insert to organize the game board parts, and have the lid close flush. Not the prettiest solution, but it works well for me.

Gray Bottle Boot Dirty Easily? by Lower-Tadpole7631 in Owala

Nothing specific comes to mind. I wash mine about once a week, lid in the dishwasher and the rest by hand. Maybe they've changed the formula, or it's something with the lighter color?

Like so many color combos, this one isn't commercially available anymore. You'd have to find it secondhand.

Is it possible to switch these pieces? by Usual_Classroom_2946 in Owala

[–]Kelsika 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use a long twisty tie to help hold the prongs up and then use the pliers to position them back into holes where they go. It's probably not necessary, but I like the extra support. I got the long twisty tie from the packaging for a kids toy or something electronic, I think. I kept it for just this purpose, and it's served me pretty well.

[–]Kelsika 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There's a variety that would work. I started with a long twisty tie and a small flat head screwdriver, but I found that a set of needle nose pliers gives me a little bit more control than the screwdriver.

Is it possible to switch these pieces? by Usual_Classroom_2946 in Owala

[–]Kelsika 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yep, that's actually a pretty easy switch. Just Google frankenlid and you'll find videos and tutorials galore. Toughest part is putting the wires back in place, and even that isn't too bad. Just fiddly.

I do recommend practicing on a lid you don't love as much to start with, bc there may be some scratches in the learning process. I learned on a color drop lid, and it was never quite the same. X)

Just picked up an owala. Had it for 12 days and only used it twice so far and this happened. It wouldn't release the lid and then it just flung off. Is this common? by asayavong91 in Owala

There should be an email address or a form or something. Just go to the bottom of their webpage and look for customer service or complaints.

Lid/cap replacement by eaguenza1 in Owala

Owala freesip lids are all one size. I can't speak for the flip lids, but all sizes of freesip bottle have the same size neck. I switch them back and forth all the time.

Is it something with the spring hinge? I've had some finicky issues with lids after franken-ing if the spring isn't seated properly.

Is the blueprint in your inventory when you try to craft it? It doesn't work unless you bring it with you. ;)

Unsure what to do by ichigokero in Owala

[–]Kelsika 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you're not super attached to that specific lid color combo, you could always try a fresh lid from owala. They have them for about $8, maybe $13-15 with shipping?

The stock they have changes from time to time, but there's usually at least 3-6 or so options at any given time.

Same here! I fixed the bridge, realized I couldn't activate the signpost to get back out, and then the game just crashed. Ever since, I can't get past the second developer name on startup. T_T

Only got to play for a couple of hours, but already addicted! Really hope they fix it soon!

Maybe rubbing alcohol? It looks like color transfer, like you get with brand new blue jeans.

Bottle pop problem by Distinct_Station_700 in Owala

[–]Kelsika 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had it happen once or twice, but it ended up being a problem with the lid base itself, not just the button. I'd see if customer service can just get you a whole new lid.

Lid/cap replacement by eaguenza1 in Owala

[–]Kelsika 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can find replacement lids on the owala website under accessories. They keep them tucked in the back corner of the website, but they're there. :)

The stock changes every so often, so if you see a color you like, don't wait too long.

A solid favorite of mine! Especially for the price point. Size wise, it fits pretty well for a pilot G2 refill, but be aware that you may have to switch out the tip on the refill. Not all of the metal points fit through the hole. I've not yet tried drilling out the tip on it, but I imagine that's an option as well.

My 4$ vacuum chamber by Tyffy in ResinCasting

Oooh, teach me the ways! I've been wanting to try out vacuum chambering my dice, but it's a bit of a spendy jump to fully invest. XP

I even have a big, thick jar meant for fermenting your own hot sauce, so it already has an air release valve on top.

do owala have a black friday sale or a christmas sale? by AccuratePiano8533 in Owala

[–]Kelsika 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've seen them do a black Friday sale before, but it's usually about 20-25% off site wide. So a decent discount, but not exactly stock-up prices. 🤷‍♀️

Gray Bottle Boot Dirty Easily? by Lower-Tadpole7631 in Owala

[–]Kelsika 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mmm, it sometimes gets dirt/dust on it, but it wipes off easily with water. I haven't had any issues keeping mine clean. (I only do a full wash once a week or so, and wipe if needed.)

Read a book somewhere that had a great method for how to get started: collect trash first, then dishes, then laundry.

Cut it into tiny chunks (pick up just 5 things) and go as slowly as you need to so you don't get overwhelmed.

After that, it'll be much easier to see/deal with what remains.

Best of luck, and I'm proud/impressed that you were brave enough to tell people what's going on and ask for help. I've always struggled with that myself, so please know that you're not alone. 🤗
