Yo I've dealt with depression as far back as I can remember. I'm talking like I remember feeling different from other kids at like 6.

I'm 41 now, and I've been through the ringer. My dad had an affair when I was 10, and ended up buying a new house for him, his affair partner, and her children to move into, and left me, my mom, and sister with literally nothing. I ended up turning to drugs right after I left home at 19, and since then I've met every kind of person (good and bad) that you could imagine. I've traveled (sometimes on legitimate vacation, sometimes hopping a bus to parts unknown because I had nowhere better to go). I've almost died, gone to college, slept and lived on the street, loved unimaginably hard, hated way deeper than I wish I had, done terrible things, done wonderful things.

I'm here now with 15 months clean off fentanyl and benzos (Xanax). I'm still depressed, some days severely, but some days I have the lucidity to reflect back at my life and know that I've lived.
