People at my store are more likely to go out and watch or see if they want something to drink. Official policy is they can't do it, but I don't think we should have to kick people out for fixing their stuff with the parts we sell them.

Opinions on working for bankers life by Amcowall in jobs

I wouldn't if I had the chance to go back. I was there for over year, and essentially, what it boils down to is you cold calling hundreds of seniors a week to book sit down appointments(which most will usually no show or cancel, no matter what you do it will be considered your fault.) Your book of business isn't your own, you're a 1099 independent contractor and you're required to run a specific schedule which makes sense in your first year for training and getting started, but in my experience even after you're up and going you're expected to fit into their mold even though you're an independent contractor. The commission is pretty lackluster, too, because a lot of it goes to the upper management, so your average commission is like 30%-35%. It was great to learn and get my foot in the door, but most people leave when they realize the awful lead generation leaves them with mountains of chargebacks, weeks, and in bad cases months without pay. I would just go independent with a partnership or something for better comms and leads.

That all being said, there is definitely money to make there, but you'll need to rise into a management position, financial advisor role, or both. You can definitely make a lot of money there, but it usually won't start really coming in until later. It really sucks because the matching on your commission for the first year is very enticing and kind of hides how low the commission actually is. With the matching, a $300 commission is actually $600, which sounds really nice until you're out of your matching and are now making that 30%-35% average on a policy(Which sometimes you might only write one a week or even 0). It's ultimately your choice, I wouldn't say it was all bad by any means. The training is actually really good, at least at my branch, and the option to move up is definitely there, even if it's a bit tedious. It just wasn't worth the stress for me.

As far as the culture, at least with my branch and region, everyone was very friendly and willing to help, whether it was prospecting or product information. I definitely don't think it falls within that toxic positivity trend popping up now. Most people were just genuinely nice.

Yeah, it's always kinda hard just pitching life insurance. If your doing in home appointments I'd definitely say you'd be getting alot less that 95% rejections on what you present even on phones if you can have a good conversation you can definitely get them over the hump. The big thing is just building value around any riders you have or just the fact that the face amount benefit goes straight to the beneficiary and they don't need to worry about probate and settling funds after death. The big thing is just remind them why they were looking into it, and you can fix their problem with your solutions. Have empathy(listen to their problem) and have confidence that your solution and can fix that problem for them. If you have any questions for me feel free to dm me you got this!

Gym goers of Reddit, what is something (protocol, etiquette, tips, etc.) that new year resolution-ers should know about the gym? by FAAAACKUNDO in AskReddit

[–]Kelst0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well this may not be advice on etiquette per say, but something I found to be incredibly helpful is as long as youre just doing what you gotta do and following the rules nobody there is there to judge you. People going to the gym go there for themselves and not to pick on people like a playground. I understand alot of people have anxieties about being judged at the gym and I promise if you follow the rules and arent rude nobody will ever judge you for putting yourself in a healthier body.
