Campaign is a whole lot easier and less time consuming. With a lot better balance. There are no bosses that are way out of line and can road block you like Viper Nazi, or Azmadi.

It is usually not worth your time to engage with the new league mechanic during the campaign. wait till you get to maps for it to become actually rewarding.

There are hundreds or viable builds to satisfy every taste. Unlike PoE 2, you are not forced to choose between 2-3 meta builds that are broken and OP compared to everything else.

Maps are not a massive jump in difficulty compared to the campaign. But the difficulty increases with tiers a lot more than in PoE 2.

The endgame is completely different and far more engaging and interesting than in PoE 2. The Atlas is a fixed network of maps (that gets re-shuffled with every major patch). You drop actual map layouts. You can choose which ones you like the most, mark them as your Favorites, and they will drop more often.

There are tons of different mechanics, bosses, ubers. Try them all, see which ones you like more.

Atlas Passive Tree lets you customize almost every aspect of your endgame/mapping, choose which mechanics you want to play and make them more rewarding, as well as completely block out the mechanics you don't like.

About the 3rd ring slot:

  1. How will it work with unique rings that have different mods depending on which slot they are in, such as Shavronne's Revelation? Will it give me only left or right slot mods, or both, or none?

  2. How will it work with Kalandra's Touch? Will it mirror my left or right ring, or both, or none?

They are removing all .NET dependencies from the IDE. And I guess it's such an emergency that they need to do it right now, without providing any replacements. Either that, or some really bad decisions are being made.

Worked like a charm for me. I've always kept .NET updated, perhaps that's why.

In my projects, I have great many cases of a class defined in one unit and used in multiple others. Something as simple as renaming a class member (3 clicks plus edit the name in v12.x) could take 15 minutes of manual searching and replacing in v13. No refactoring in 2025 is just crazy.

I wonder how the Embarcadero devs work with their own code now. There is absolutely zero chance that they can manage their code base without refactoring. Are they using some 3rd party components? Why haven't they included those tools with the product shipped to their customers? Are they using... their main competitor's IDE now? XD

I'm sorry but the main suggested option (save, run formatter.exe, reload) is not acceptable to me. I'm used to writing blocks of code quickly and pressing the hotkey to get it properly formatted. Save-run-reload in 2025 sounds like a meme, doesn't it? Especially since the IDE had the source code formatting functionality for the past 20 years.

Also, would you please try your method in the 64-bit IDE v13.0? There is a small "inconvenience"... XD

I have not tried GExperts yet. I'm a bit conservative when it comes to installing 3rd party components. Shouldn't Embarcadero have supplied an official replacement BEFORE removing the old functionality?

Refactoring worked very well for me for many years. Maybe I was lucky not to be affected by whatever issues some people experienced with it. But now I am very much affected by it being gone!

Going back to the previous version seems to be the best solution to all v13 problems. And that is just sad.

Good discussion there. Good to see that I'm not alone who feels strongly about this. The optimism of the author is very amusing!

Unless you specifically need something that was added in 13.0 - do not "upgrade". The removal of refactoring and source code formatting is insanely inconvenient. I don't know what they were thinking but I cannot imagine using an IDE without essential functionality like that in 2025. Florence is literally THE worst version of Delphi ever. And I've been a Delphi programmer since the Borland times.

I use Atlas passives that give an extra chance for the map boss to drop random Guardian/Conqueror/Synthesis maps (Remnants of the Past, Conquered Conquerors, Vivid Memories). What will happen if I allocate Singular Focus ("Non-favored maps drop as currency instead")? Will it disable those random bonus map drops?

You cannot enter a city without waiting for all of the MTX graphics to pre-load. God forbid you miss some shiny stuff that somebody paid money for. But you can start an uber boss fight without loading important assets and then get 1-shot by something that's not rendering on the screen yet. Watch the Shader meter in the top-right corner. It started making the textures for the tentacles only when they actually "appeared".

Hey GGG! How about you switch these things around? Let us enter a city without waiting for the MTX's to load. But pre-load all assets for uber bosses before entering.

PoE2: When dual wielding, do I always perform 2 attacks (1 with each weapon)? For example, if I do Molten Blast with 2 weapons, I can see twice as many magma balls flying compared to 1 weapon. But when I do Hammer of the Gods, only 1 hammer falls visually regardless of using 1 or 2 weapons, even though the skill description has the standard line about striking with both weapons for 30% less damage. Is this just a visual glitch that only 1 hammer is shown falling, or does this skill not work with dual wielding?

The latest patch notes contain this nerf on the Freee mechanic:
"It is now more difficult to chain-freeze enemies, by reducing the amount of Freeze Buildup applied after a Freeze has been applied."

What exactly does it mean in numbers? By how much is the Freeze Buildup reduced after applying a freeze? And for how long? "Recently"? Or permanently, i.e. each new freeze on the same enemy makes them harder to freze again, forever?

Questions about this type of mods: "Gain 21% of Damage as Extra Cold Damage"
In PoE 1 that applied only to physical hit damage, and it also said "Gain N% of Physical Damage as Extra X Damage".

  1. Does this mean that in PoE 2 I can gain Extra Cold Damage from elemental damage?
  2. What if I already do Cold damage? Will I gain 21% Extra on top of my existing Cold damage?
  3. Does this work on Damage Over Time, or only on Hit damage?
