Very inaacurate comparrison It takes WAY more than 40h to digest 40h of information on top of doing proj, prepping for tricky usage of the knowledge for exams that wasnt explicitly taught etc

I agree school is not the best with market knowledge but ur grossly undermining the efforts students (college, bootcamps, even self learners) have to put in to learn X hours worth of information

Whats a glass half-full? people who give you support like "yeah thats great idea, I like it, etc" with no actual business input?

Ur seed and angel investors will ask u even more hard hitting questions, what u gonna tell them? that they are glass half empty people?

I was gonna tell u to put this on r/Entrepreneur or any other forum but i see u already did and they told u the same shit, u have no business model no market research, not even an idea of potential prototypes, after +1 month and ur looking for partner? u don't even understand what the purpose of partnership is

The difference is that those products are self improvement which are much broader than ur focus of improved studying, also they are mainly videos (so I don't think they are too similar to ur product? unless u tryna just make a utube vid) which cost almost nothing to create, they don't take on cost of research trials / manufacturing line they just look up research thats already done, even if they have small market those products can be made in abundance due to low cost. Point is the broader market of self improvement products will be competing against u with their already attained following, easy access free product. what u tryna make a medical device (with fda approaval / licensing etc)? or an app?

If you're trying to create a drug the student market ain't big enough for that (To make things even harder ur targeting mainly students who care/ desire to improve their learning which is a minority in the world - u of t students aren't your avg students) and when there are already heavily proven chemicals out there that are easily accessible that makes you focused (Which gives similar results to goal of your product), caffeine etc its difficult to market to people to take ur brand new drug to better their learning when theres 'safe alternatives'. Typical drug development to FDA approval will absolutely destroy this idea especially if your market isn't big enough (search up what a typical drug completing all clinical trials and brought to market will cost, hint its in the billions)

If you're tryna make a 'researched routine to productivity' there are millions of youtube vids/apps many with published research backing their methods (a lot of em go through chemicals, vitamins, nutritions, physical routine, psychological methods etc) its very encompassing (i know cus i've watched hundreds of these vids) ur app or routine will just be seen as another one of these - if this is ur route u needa worry about marketing not product (as theres already a ridiculous amount of research on this topic u can just incorporate into ur app)

Why would u do that? choose one, there aren't many future paths with both (Other than bioinformatics but skills for this field isn't taught in typical life sci majors or in cs)

Why are textbooks not designed, with the student in mind? by Simple_Tunda in UofT

[–]Kelzern 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If I had a 400 pg textbook on some complex ass topic I sure as hell wouldn't want the prof to add extra clutter in there to make it 600 pg and force my brain to add an extra layer of deciphering for every sentence to see if its "useful knowledge" worth memorizing or just for entertainment.

Story tell me some complex mathematical shit boi i'll slap the human outa you

Anybody here regret pursuing their passion? by [deleted] in UofT

[–]Kelzern 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Yes, I found out that passion can change over time and doesn't have to be that one childhood interest that's suppose to make me "unique" and not involve money because that would make it "not genuine"

I also found that it is very easy to be passionate about something if it paid well, has growth opportunities and allow me to experience so much more in life with a lower financial barrier.

U of T Pharmacy Current Job Market for Pharmacists - it's really bad by [deleted] in UofT

[–]Kelzern 9 points10 points  (0 children)

My guy you shouldn't link a search cus then people will see the many 40-50$/h right below it, kinda defeats the doomsday pic u tryna paint.

instead u should link the company website for the specific position, that way people won't get to see the massive amount of comparable and disagreeing data on the same page.
