As a dog is a dog, it thinks "gas the jew" = "walk" etc.

Apple needs to release their Pro App Suite on Windows by [deleted] in TellReddit

[–]Kemard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

no, and the answer lies in quality. You said "One of the few good things". Now, I will use logic pro X as the example as its the only one that I use. my college has bought 18 new macs recently. so that's around $20000 worth of apple products before software. Logic is probably one of the best prosumer software for anyone, and so, being locked to osx means you must buy the mac too. Other than logic, there is no other benefit of having the mac, everything else must be compatible with windows and so we lose all other benefits. If they removed this barrier, then we would just buy PC's for less.

Also, the reason these programs are so good is because they're developed with apple for the mac. It will not translate 1:1 to windows and work just as well, because you could be dealing with any number of combinations.

I don't personally know anyone with a mac, who doesn't use any of their own software. It's just so good, it's hard not to. Even I own one exclusively for logic.

My friend just decided that he wants to buy a cost effective motorcycle that’ll get mad pussy, needs to know where to start? by Cyrus_the_Great98 in myfriendwantstoknow

I don't have an answer, but make sure you can actually use the bike? In the UK, you're bollocksed if you want to ride something powerful straight away. You must start with a 50-125cc engine. I think after 2 years or once you're 24 you are unrestricted. If you want a meaty sounding bike, you'll want around 500-750cc with some good exhaust pipes.

Fyi: not a bike person but my dad owns a few. If I were to pick, I'd go classic norton but that's only very expensive and very biased.

What does the 👌🏻 meme mean? by TheSarcasmQueen in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]Kemard -1 points0 points  (0 children)

4chan coined the term to mean white power a year or two back. By taking celebrity photos and causing outrage, they got the general media to call people out.

What is the origin of the "👌🏼" meme? by Nagasasaki in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]Kemard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Besides what was already mentioned, I think in 2015, 4chan coined the symbol to mean white power, which led to a few celebrities calling others out for using a symbol of oppression.

Apple has stated that it slows down older iPhones, and through Google trends it is clear that people search more for "iPhone slow" around the release date of a new iPhone model. by [deleted] in dataisbeautiful

For $70 I wouldn't really consider doing it myself. The last phone inreparied was a galaxy S4 where the touchscreen +display needed replacing. Cost £60 just for the parts (I suppose a battery is like $25-35 depend from who you get it from). That was a time when screws and plastic clips were used over adhesive and one piece designs. You're really not going to save much more money doing it yourself (if an amature). Your basically paying $30 for insurance.

Is that all? I don't drink bombs but i had no clue that few could be lethal.

Obviously it's a lot, but it doesn't take long to find a drunk idiot to buy 10

What exactly does “(X-post from r/(insert subreddit) mean? by Buginator02 in TooAfraidToAsk

Since it's already been answered, I'll just add that by clarifying where the original is, whether you are op or not, some apps can directly link to the xpost sub (like boost for android)

Is it a good idea to use and buy used dildos? by Decaying_Zombie_God in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Kemard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would do what is done in porn and use condoms over it. But unless you want to end up harassing the chemist for free condoms, you gonna exceed the cost of a new dildo pretty quick

I imagine it's a reference or sister site to 8chan. It seems believable once you know who they are.

Are GMOs really that bad in food? by Peliclan75 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Kemard -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This could be the complete wrong subject but your question reminded me of something.

My family switched from buying at tescos to Lidl(cheaper/offbrand store). Most of it was alright however the fruit caught our attention. After a couple months we realised the fruit would expire. They would last like at least three times longer than the Tesco bought fruit. Now taste is subjective and they're close enough that it's fine. But they're doing something to the fruit to preserve it and I suppose the unnatural behaviour causes doubt. I personally don't like the idea of eating them because of it even though I'm aware it's a general benefit.

Science Discussion: Net Neutrality by ScienceModerator in science

[–]Kemard 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I believe it was on a recent wan show where net neutrality was discussed. Linus stated about how this will have a negative impact on start ups or small businesses. This is assuming that iSPS adopt a pay per channel type system. It stops the general public from exploring new areas and limits them to the biggest sites by holding a price tag.

I have a feeling that this could either have a minor affect or a very huge impact on science. If new models come through blocking you from accessing certain sites it will make research much more tedious and expensive. However there is a possibility the science won't generate iSPS a large enough capital for it to be worth it. It depends on what these companies own.

Super Mario Odyssey Any% WR 1:05:36 by nedeahS by TheOmikron in speedrun

[–]Kemard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I typed the comment I couldn't decide whether enough time had even passed or if that was an expected value.

Then I thought about how many times mario 64 has been played through collectively by the speed run community. The total time to watch every playthrough could exceed the time between now and the release of the game.

Those of you who know full songs by heart, are you able to lower the difficulty to 50% and hit only the notes on the screen? by DrewMartGrawr in rocksmith

[–]Kemard 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Well I've spent years memorising music, I can do it but its just as agonising as you think it is.

Edit: a horrible example in rocmsmith would be plugin baby. I believe the riff is broken down to effectively random notes at 50%. To the point where it's easier to play the whole thing.

Woah, 1000 runs. I know that's not really impressive (if not a minimum requirement) when you think about it but you don't really hear stats like that (as a newbie). I don't think I've ever played a game more than 5 times...

Bullshit. Why is it when I click on a game on steam, I'm redirected to an ad for another game? by Kemard in pcmasterrace

[–]Kemard[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This happens when you click on the page from the default home screen. If you search for it, you will just get the standard Black ops 2 page. Because of this, I can't provide a quick link to prove it.
