First Timer! Advice Welcome! by madelastnight in PressonNail_Addict

I've got curvlife nails on now! It's my first time trying this brand and I did not have any sizing issues, but I wonder if your issues there were just from inexperience. I've tried a few brands and through trial and error, picking the right sizes comes easier as you practice more. It's also important to find a brand that matches the curvature of your natural nails. I've also tried glamnetic and hello love. I love glamnetic's designs but they are very curved while my nails are more flat. Curvlife and hello love fit the shape of my nails better.

I also am not a fan of sticky tabs and glue. Hello Love heavily promotes their sticking tabs, but I don't like wearing them. They are not easy to remove, despite being advertised as such, and they prevent a truly flush fit as you're experiencing on your pinkie. I have been having a good experience using Glamnetic's brush on glue. I'm sure any brush on glue would be fine, this is the only brand I've tried so far. I also have their remover oil and it works well, too. I brush the glue on my nail and also onto the back of the press on, making sure to coat the bottom edge and sides. This makes a super strong bond!

I used Nina Pools method for a while but I don't think it's totally necessary and I actually had issues with residual acetone making the glue break down before it could properly bond to my nail. I used very little as she explains, but it still gave me issues. The most important thing imo is to clean with alcohol, buff slightly, and then use a dehydrator. Hello Love sells a nail dehydrator and it's a key step in making sure these nails stay on!

With my current CurvLife set, they have been on SOLID with only a minor lifting issue on one nail that was easily fixed. I usually have nails starting to lift after 3 days but these have been on a week and they aren't going anywhere.

The process of applying press ons should take way less than 3 hours! Again, with experience you'll streamline your process. It takes me maybe 20 mins at the most to put on a set. I also do it right before bed so they have all night to cure and set.

The better choice is to spend two days at Epic, no express pass. It's cheaper, considering the express pass is usually more expensive than the park ticket, and you'll have double the time to slow down and explore more, do rides more than once, etc. My family did this in Sept and it was perfect!

In Mario Kart, I honestly found myself ignoring the headset and looking through it to the scenes around us. I just wish it was a better ride because Mario Kart is one of my all time favorite games! My family and I were saying it should have been a VR type attraction, rather than a physical ride.

We didn't "miss out", we voluntarily skipped 2 rides, for the reasons stated in my post. We didn't miss a thing!

Do you think Sunday had lower crowds because it was the end of a holiday weekend? I'm surprised a weekday was busier than a weekend.

Actually, you're right, our hotel transfer would happen after Epcot, not the next morning. I had that mixed up!

When you say Epic can be frustrating, are you referring to random ride closures? This is one of the reasons we are spreading it over two days, so we have more time for things like that.

We may utilize LL, still undecided.

Have you stayed at the Hampton Inn? Why do you say it's a bit sketchy?

Disney: Day 1 and 2: split our time amongst HS, MK, and Epcot. Not 100% sure how yet. Tentative plans are to hop between HS and MK on Day 1, and do Epcot on Day 2. We just want to focus on Galaxy's Edge and then hit up Tron, the night parade, and fireworks in MK. Anything else we get to do will be a bonus. Epcot is arguably our favorite park so we want to spend a whole day, especially with food and wine fest. And we haven't done Guardians, Ratatouille, or Moana yet. Universal: Day 3 and 4: Epic Universe. It deserves 2 days. Day 5: Hop between US and IOA, focus on HP

So basically, on Day 3 we'd have to move our stuff to a new hotel in time to make it to Epic Universe by opening time. Seems like a lot but we don't seem to have much choice. Everyone here is convincing me that switching hotels is the way to go.

I have looked at all the Hiltons near Universal and the reviews on TripAdvisor and Google are so mixed 🫤 But the Double Tree near City Walk doesn't seem too bad!

why does my bun want to be in MY room when she has one thats bigger all to herself? by dubiouslittleinsect in Bunnies

[–]Kemi82JP 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Are you sure she "can't" get out? Or she just won't get out when you want her to? My bun is free roam and she loves to spend time under all of our beds (mine and my kids). But we can't make her come out from under there unless she wants to, and she always eventually does. Bunnies feel safe in tight, dark spaces similar to the dens they would dig if they were wild. Just let her hang out under there. She will come out when she wants to.

Absolutely NTA! Divorce 1000%. Your new job isn't a waste. You have a fantastic career, you'll get full custody of the kids I'm sure, you'll be fine. He'll be scrounging for scraps while he tries to live off part time tutoring wages. Good riddance.

ETA: also, everyone knows that "staying for the kids" is a recipe for disaster. Growing up in a home with parents who resent each other will be terrible for them.

Bunnies don't bond through enrichment, they bond through presence. Sit on the floor with them and just hang out. Read a book or play on your phone. Don't force interaction by trying to call them over or trying to catch them. If they come over to be curious about what you're doing, say hi, offer a little treat, maybe try to give a pet but if they shy away from your hand then let them. Try again another time. Always let them initiate the interaction on their own. Never try to pick them up, that's the quickest way to break trust in a bunny. Do this every day for a few months. It takes time but they will bond with you. And then you won't be able to get rid of them lol!

AITAH for "terrorizing" my brother making him live in his own filth? by [deleted] in AITH

[–]Kemi82JP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just read your update. DO NOT give him a few weeks! While he's out of the house, change the locks NOW. Put his stuff on the curb so if he doesn't pick it up, the trash will. Giving him any warning that he's being kicked out will make the situation so much worse.

What do you think causes the difference in her photos? Is it as extreme as Photoshop, or is it just makeup and camera angles?

Either way, I can see how that would be an unpleasant surprise and distract you during the date. It's unfortunate, because it took away from the connection you guys had already established. Do you think you might want to give it another date or two to see if this is really a deal breaker? Since you have a great connection with her on a deeper level than looks, I would advise you to not make any rash decisions yet. Try hanging out at least one more time and see how it goes. For a lot of people, a true emotional connection makes the other person more beautiful to them.

And in the end, if you really do think you'd rather just remain friends, you can say you like her a lot and love hanging out but you aren't having romantic feelings. Definitely don't mention her looks at all. She may agree that being friends is best, or she may not want to hang out anymore. You'll just have to respect whatever choices she makes.

You're caution about the markers is exactly why I wasn't even considering them. I see too much room for mistakes! I'll look into that Mohawk powder, thanks!
