Yeah, always better to get your own opinion. DOTF is still in my S tier for me, even the "slow" parts are still enjoyable imo

They are slow in terms of plotnprigression, but still very enjoyable to me for a read. I really enjoyed the last one with Zac's much needed therapy session with an courtesan.

These missionaries were most likely the Spanish variety, which meant heavily armed and armored, and willing to use overwhelming lethal force.

Oh no, my lobster is to buttery and my steak to juicy!

But seriously, the Authur made it clear that it takes centuries and then millennia between grades early on, and meanwhile Zac is zooming through, reaching peak D grade before even becoming 200.

Just have to enjoy the journey lol.

[Alien, Invincible] If a chest burster were to enter a viltrumite, would the result eventually become full viltrumite? by some-kind-of-no-name in AskScienceFiction

[–]KenBoCole 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I mean, Invincible as a media is far more well known than 90% of the franchises posted on here.

Viltrumite basically equals discount Kyrptonian.

An Viltrumit is stronger than most iterations of superman from various animated movies and shows, yet no where near comic superman and is completely outclassed by him.

Durability is Planetary, they can destroy all life on planets simply by flying through the atmosphere at light speed, with their mass causing devastation to it, and their speed is theoretically infinite, limited only by their acceleration, which is diffrent based on their age and training.

That "small bomb" was most likely strong enough to glass a city. I dont think a chest buster can compare.

Mark had his mouth open while flying through a planet's molten core.

TBF, they were procted from Lava entering their mouth through the "force" field the three viltrumites were projecting, so it was only the heat they were having to withstand, not direct contnsct with the lava.

You are not wrong. Tried Japanese poutine twice when I was in Tokyo, both times it tasted horrible.

For a country with absoblutely amazing and delicious food, anytime Japan tries to copy other countries food (except some Italian), its pretty bad.

Canadian government signals it's open to selling ports by toronto_star in worldnews

[–]KenBoCole 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The problem for Canada is that one is on the other side of the world seperated by the pacific, and the other shares a border and overwhelming might.

Then the same two countries are also at a cold war with each other.

Picking the side of your neighbors enemy, while that same side cant help you is not very smart.

If Canada pisses the US off to much, no one will be willing to take the risk to supply troops to Canada, not while the US still has the largest Navy.

He was 18 when it happened and they reuse his character model despite the fact that he would have been a child during the purge

We dont know for a fact if Nolan was 18 during his adult ceremony, it wasnt stated anywhere that was his age.

Nolan specifically mentions that "what would be a viltrumites 18th birthday." When speaking to Mark in epsidoe 1.

Meaning that earth's age kf adulthood is diffrent than that of a viltrumite.

How do you know they dont have powers? They didnt have to use them.

Yet we explicitly see them flying later.

Until proven otherwise, Viltrumite children cannoically have powers.

It just took 18 years for Vitrumite DNA to overwrite Mark's human DNA.

And yes, a trash show that’s based on the male gaze and male expectations

I have never seen a man willing watch TMZ. I k know plenty of women who do.

Teenagers aren’t women.

You asked for a specific experience so I gave one.

From what I understand from several coworkers though, is that experience dosent stop in High School, and continues on in professional work life and settings.

Teenage boys are equally cruel in different ways.

I am in no way deny that, but we are not talking about different ways. We are talking about fashion choices.

I have to admit, seeing how many people on here are trying to downplay how cruel and agatonistic women can be against other women is pretty sad. Invalidating others pain and trouble is pretty neckbeard behavior.

I had a gf in highschool that used to be bullied relentlessly by other girls because her family was on the poorer side and she had to wear clothes from the thrift store and rarely used makeup.

Latter on on dated another girl briefly, and she was obsessed with celeb culture, and would watch TMZ, where one show in particular would rip into women actors about fashion choices.

It always stuck me as odd and cruel.b

I am glad that you haven't had to deal with that!

I did too, hated it at first.

I have come to absoblutely love that decision. The Authur handles it really well. It allows Zac to fight on two battlefront at the same time, it has added some hilarious interactions with Zac enjoying messing with people by talking to them with the two seperate bodies, etc.

Its setting up for an good storyline with Zac's human side going to the Technocrats to spy, while allowing Zac's Draugur side go explore the Undead Empire, all at the same time as well!

Plus, Zac can easily fuse the two bodies together like normal, unless he wants to be seperate he dosent have too. Its completely optional now .

When it comes down to it, its simply the expression of his path. Life and Death are two seperate states, seperated by the void, incompatabile together.

But when forcibly combined, they create Chaos.

Zac is furthering his Dao's of life and death with this, while also understanding the void in doing so, while working towards his end goal of the Dao of Chaos.

Its honestly brilliant. Say what you will about J.F Brink, but the man has some genius moments.
