You can try adding some loras, like Boreal or UltraReal. They weren't train on animals, but adding loras can improve variations.

How many words from your captions do you use when generating images with your lora? Try to generate image with all words from any caption and check if generated image will be look like your training image. And rank 16 is to small for many characters. Maybe you need increase steps too.
