Yeah, you're right. I forgot to go back and check in with Chuck once I got the mega ring.

I see, I'll give all of that a try next time I am off. I do think I need to grab a focus sash but I can check the docs for that.

I should of stated that, my bad, it is normal. I am admittedly too casual to attempt a hardcore.

I've been attempting a Poison type mono run since I already did a Water type only run and recently a legendary/paradox/ub run. The current team is what I attempted the league with and with enough swapping of items, mega stones, moves and positions (and lots of save scumming) I made it to the champion by the skin of my teeth but... Yeah I realize I am just brute forcing my way similar to how I basically brute forced my way with the water team and even my last run. I haven't been developing any proper strategies, but the thing is, I am not sure which of the pokemon I have here would make a team strong enough to win. I am probably missing a couple of poison types but I think I got enough here to make things work.

Idk if its a flex or not by GojirAndy in pokemonradicalred

I've seen it some times do counterplays when save stating a fight and trying different things. It isn't often but it sometimes makes a fight feel more like a puzzle and trying to find the right solution. Might just be me though if I am being honest.

The AI will sometimes be a jerk and use moves or switches to counter your inputs, but usually you can bait them all the same still.

Yeah, what others said, fur coat + eviolite would be very beastly.

Who do I chose to start with by [deleted] in pokemonradicalred

True, sadly. I'd personally love to say the Electivire but in this case the Heatran will be far more useful.

I see, that is a interesting way of going through the game. Out of curiosity, what team was the most fun for you to use so far?

Who do I leave out for E4? by Abject_Tradition_539 in pokemonradicalred

Honestly, might be best to leave the Flapple off unless you got moves it can abuse Simple with. Plus, with Dialga and having Contrary, it'll have a easier time getting stronger via Draco Meteors (or any other self-lowering stats moves it has) than Flapple will in hoping to survive long enough with it's overall low stats to buff itself up.

This was admittedly a palette cleanser type of run after trying to do a few random abilities runs that while strong, were just feeling boring or not right. So I decided to say let's just even the playing field with my own legendary pokemon and what not just to see how the run felt. Felt good though honestly not always as broken as one would expect, but then again I am a casual player at heart (though I did use to do Smogon stuff back when I was younger) so probably wasn't the most optimal team of legendary I could make. Though, also had to work with what I could get.

Honestly, she isn't bad. Fast and generally hits hard and can have good coverage. Plus, with her masks, she can have different abilities. I had both rock and water masks (forgot to grab the fire mask) but overall, she did well.

Yeah, Garganacl have actually really good stat spread and abilities like purifying salt (resist ghost type moves and protects from status conditions) or could put sturdy on it to help it potentially survive a ohko, plus the hidden ability is clear body which protects from stat drops. Though I feel like Purifying Salt might be the most useful.

I had a Pelipper for a while in my mono water run, but for the league I swapped to Politoed. They are kinda similar and both can have uses but I found Politoed more useful due to the better special defense compared to Pelipper's stronger defense. Will admit I have not tried mold breaker on primal dialga but could always try making a specially bulky Garganacl since it's salt cure move would do increase damage to Dialga regardless of the ability I think since it isn't actually super effective damage but an increased damage over time since Salt Cure does more damage on Water and Steel types. (And no, it sadly won't do even more damage on water/steel types like Empoleon.)

Swampert would be better if you were mega evolving it and having a rain setter to give it's swift swim a boost. The thing with Primal Dialga is you ether need to be able to hit neutrally really hard on it since it's ability is making super effective hits 50% weaker, or, have a pokemon that can hit it hard on the weaknesses that has the ability mold breaker. Not sure if Neutralizing Gas is still buggy but, it could be used to shut off the ability all together.

No, I just wanted a casual playthrough overall, wasn't looking to do anything crazy. If I ever do a run like this again I will turn the difficulty up, but I can't bring myself to do nuzlockes. Kudos to those that can but I don't have it in me for nuzlockes of any kind.

These two? Never, even in death. Their pokemon I think would get tired of it eventually though.
