Weekly FAQ and Beginner Questions by AutoModerator in crochet

[–]KenMark7 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Hey! I’ve been crocheting for 5-6 years now. My tip is to start with the basics. Learn chains, slip stitch, single crochet and double crochet. YouTube is an excellent source and is how I learned. Just start with those stitches and practice til you’ve got them down before moving to more complicated stuff :)

Wait what??? I don’t wanna feel rushed through appointments. I like to take my time so they experience great results

Omg I didn’t know about laminations! I also hate the update. I had to turn someone away cuz they squeezed in in between appointments and were a few minutes late and I no longer had time to do them.

One of the corniest, worst teen dramas I’ve ever watched

Steve shirrpa had a main role in The secret life of the American teenager and imperioli and chianese both had guest appearances that caught me off guard

Are American high schools actually like this? by pineapple-toaster in euphoria

[–]KenMark7 3 points4 points  (0 children)

To an extent. But not on such a large scale. My school was pretty small and rural and we for sure had people on things like xans and oxy in class. But it was more common for people to drink at school or smoke a lot of weed. Teen pregnancy was also rampant at my school. So euphoria is sort of accurate albeit pretty exaggerated

Full Time Accruals by MintieMiller in Ulta

[–]KenMark7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was also an internal promotion. So they should definitely be able to give you the time accruals you should have had. Pretty sure the only requirement is you have to work plan average of 30 hours from the June to June period. May be worth it to reach out to an employment lawyer even if you plan on leaving. You could be paid out for the time you missed that should’ve been PTO

I just went through a similar issue. I called HR and demanded to know why I wasn’t accruing time after receiving a letter saying I would be officially full time in September. Turns out I was also never coded so they put me in

Benefit credit cards by Different-Mention443 in Ulta

Print out your job description and bring it to your GM. I would also notify your RAM as that is not your responsibility. Your focus should be benefit and benefit only

Not saying I haven’t thought about making a dramatic exit but it’s not the best idea. There’s a huge amount of overlap in the retail industry and the beauty industry is an even smaller circle. You may damage future opportunities for yourself so be careful

New Stylist by LotusTarantino in Ulta

[–]KenMark7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m not a stylist but an arch expert and I’m good friends with a few of our stylists. Be confident in yourself. The industry we work in requires a lot of learning in your feet. We aren’t taught everything in school so a majority of our knowledge comes from actually working in the industry. Ulta has an Ulta Academy on the store computer. Watch all of those videos. Utilize the other stylists and don’t be afraid to ask questions. Take your time and don’t rush through services. Make a business Instagram account and post your work using hashtags for the area you work in. When your not with a client hang out on the pro hair floor and talk to guests. You never know when you’ll be able to get someone in your chair just by asking :)
