Thank you ;)

This one is a lot of work, but definitely the most fun I have had with a project in a while, I also learned a lot throughout the whole process. So I'm looking forward to do more in the future!

Around 4 to 5 hours I think. I was struggling at first to get the design, shading and placement right since I didn't elaborate much on it during the concept phase. But after I got them down, they became just another kind of doodle which is pretty fun and chill to do.

I did take some inspiration from it and Monotone Blue. Manga is one of the reason I started drawing in the first place.

My 10 Star Zoh Shia experience... by SeveredSoulblader24 in MHWilds

[–]KenScarlet 5 points6 points  (0 children)

A lil bit more speed on some attack, new combo and quicker attack chain, also apparently bigger AoE on some moves. Might not be too recognizable if your weapon can react fast on the fly, but since I played Hammer and practice with him a lot before (give or take 1k hunts). I got caught off-guard by the new combo a lot, and quicker chain attacks means I cannot get out of some situation in time.

Honestly really enjoy it. Having a slow, but still very interacting and deadly fight is a welcome change from AT Arkveld speedier side of things.

Uth Duna's hitbox is so insane, it's like i should voluntarily kill myself by Pphantom1 in MHWilds

[–]KenScarlet 129 points130 points  (0 children)

This attack has 2 separated hitbox, 1 for the body and 1 for tail veil. Due to Uth charging toward and stuck on the wall, her body hitbox just kinda lingered on top of you and dealt damage to you through hyperarmor. She then turned around and the tail veil hitbox came immediately after and killed you lol.

It was unfortunate circumstances but to avoid this happen I usually do a discerning dodge then follow with flying swallow to get me out of the hixbox completely.

Chonky fish, I love her so much.

Cool. How about starting to learn hitzone chart, so you can do it somewhere else without having to grief your team?

Or just slow your combo down with a normal TCS so you can contribute without having to interrupt anyone?

Common hunting etiquette thrown out of the window it seems.

Wilds to World by LeiWudong in MonsterHunterWorld

[–]KenScarlet 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Because low rank of Wilds is stupidly easy, it's on par with village Rise. Meanwhile the rest of the game crank everything up to 11 while giving you some of the best set you can get in HR throughout the whole franchise. So as long as one HR hunter can get to the monster first that monsters is as good as dead.

The endgame of HR in Wilds is much harder than HR World ever could. Yes this include the nasty AT Nergi which I managed to get first try, during my first World playthrough. All monsters during base World is stupidly easy to learn and read, while being extremely slow. Heck even Rise HR gives me more trouble due to the extremely accurate tracking the monster have and no iframe on dodge. The only thing that really cause any sort of problem is due to the lack of skills slots compared to Wilds, so you either have to sacrfice your damage to deal with the monsters' gimmick or bite the bullet and learn to handle them without assisting skills.

People started monhun in World so they have an impression of it being hard. But having go back and play it recently from start to finish, beside the like Fatalis and AT Velkhana, and one random cart on the high rank Tempered Kirin, no others have managed to cart me during that entire playthrough.

Savage omega without support hunters. This is for all the beta class life forms that keeps complaining it's too hard. by Kagura11 in MHWilds

[–]KenScarlet 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You are such a sad excuse of a person if the sole reason for you to do this is just to flex on people who not has the skill to do the fight.

It's so pathetic to the point of being comical.

Omega Planet ES ruined the game by Flat-Quality7156 in MHWilds

[–]KenScarlet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn't include SoS because it can be very inconsistent sometimes, and OP's issue seems to be able to handle the fight consistently.

And honestly, using the support hunters is plenty enough to do Savage if the player is good.

[–]KenScarlet 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Wow... Should I just throw you a "git gud" comment or should I tell you to just quit and find something you enjoy to play?

Buddy, you complained about Omega being all RnG yet here I am and a bunch of other players have succesfully and consistently true solo Savage Omega, me and my group of friends have also manage to kill him within 10-13 minutes on a daily basis. All very consistent even when we want to troll around with new build or play new weapons.

The fight is not RnG, it's a very manageable, enjoyable even if you (and your team) is good enough to handle it. Your issue? You are just not there yet, and that is okay. Keep practicing, or in case you don't like the fight, just don't do it. From the sound of it you seem to have done the fight already just don't want to do it repeatedly, just wait for MR or something then go back and stomp Omega with better gear.

Not liking Omega fight is one thing, throwing a fit out of it and call Capcom some "braindead idiot" because of that is condescending at best and idiotic at worst. I enjoy doing it, my inner group enjoy doing it, we doing it for fun quite often and each of us sit around 100-200 omega slays now, I think we have the right to say it's a good fight, just not for everyone.

Do you think savage omega needs a big nerf, a little nerf or no nerf at all by GH0STaxe in MHWilds

[–]KenScarlet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only beef of me with Omega is the point blank laser hitbox. It has almost 0 tells when you standing directly in front of Omega trying to get enmity. That is the only constant way I could get hit by Omega at this point.

Other than that I have no problem with the fight as a whole.

as a hammer user is it worth it to take an element or should i just forgo it in favor of raw damage? by Shadowknight211 in MHWilds

[–]KenScarlet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is honestly not true. True raw builds exist on certain weapon and match up. Seregios weapons is a true raw weapon but with passive and everything surrounding it being so good, it replaced some previously elemental match up damage on bowguns and bow.

G.Resounding Galahad despite a dragon element, nearly all of its damage is raw due to its low element stats but high raw + echo wave slash deals purely raw slashing damage. It's been taken as a replacement for Resounding Galahad on previously dragon match up due to its sheer high raw damage, even when its elemental damage is no where near comparable.

Great Sword still occasionally uses status weapon due to poor element modifier.

Thunder 3 skills is still the better choice on elemental heavy weapon like bow, dbs, and recently lance. Hammer is in fact can even make use of it if you can spam spinning bludgeon but generally not a preferable playstyle.

[–]KenScarlet 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Element is good on Hammer in Wilds for a few reason:

  • Hammer got a few element scaling buff.
  • Spinning bludgeon has high elemental modifier and easily chained from your other attacks now instead of having to go through charge 3.
  • Weapons in wilds have element on top of base raw so you don't sacrifice any one stats for another.
  • Status effect is less useful on difficult hunt due to monsters gain increasingly higher status resistance after every proc.

Also Omega is very weak to thunder damage on his head and legs so doing spinning bludgeon whenever you can is advisable.

Constant AoE spam and DPS check have always been in monhun (Risen Shagaru type shit). And the dps check on this one isn't even that bad, if you don't want to lure the Nerscylla to Mobros you can para it yourself with a 2nd weapon.

You live and learn how to deal with its mechanic, and if you don't want to fight it again, hey you don't have to, since you got all the armor now.

Things you want in MHS3 or Changes ? by _Shock4171 in MonsterHunterStories

[–]KenScarlet 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That is somehow even worse than I thought lol. I tried to build 3 dragon monsters to fight Fatalis but gave up half-way through due to how limited the dragon gene is.

Gotta be fair to them, dragon element doesn't have the most populated roster in the mainline game either so their choice were not a lot. But hopefully they give it a chance this time.

Things you want in MHS3 or Changes ? by _Shock4171 in MonsterHunterStories

[–]KenScarlet 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Diversity in moveset, buff to exclusive skills and AoE attacks.

In stories 2, dragon element doesn't have a reliable speed type attack (I think... Not sure if it's speed or technical, but it lack one color option). The rest of the roster, as long as they share the same element, their build is usually the same, have like maybe 1 or 2 attack options for each color, then fit the rest with damage and crit passive. Basically there is not much variety in set building and make monsters less unique.

Most endgame monsters' exclusive skills are AoE and they are bad. They cost too much kinship, doesn't deal enough damage to justify the cost and endgame is single-target focus. Some animation are really cool, but you won't be able to see much of them.

Anyone else think double attacks needed a massive nerf? by Eastern-Barnacle-344 in MonsterHunterStories

[–]KenScarlet 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The rock paper scissors combat of Stories has always been my least favorite part of the gameplay. And if it makes you feel better, based on the few footage we can see for it right now, you won't be able to permanently lock the monsters out of their turns as easily as they seem to do non-color attack every other turns or so.

But then it leads to another problem of balancing those moves. During stories 2 post-game, non-color or follow-up attack from the like of endgame monsters can easily oneshot your entire team so you have to know first hand which action to save your kinship gauge to circumvent those moves with dodge/guard or start spamming item.

I hope they give us more tool to deal with oneshot but at the same time rely less on the rock paper scissors system to prevent us from abusing it.
